Has anyone seen this new addition as yet? On Honda.ca there is now an Si HFP trim slotted above the Si. Looks like it comes with all the HFP parts for the Si that I know of: wheels, pilot sport tires, lip , skirts, floor mats, badges and suspension upgrade. Its over 5k more than the standard Si. Only comes in black or white. At most I'd be interested in the pricing for the suspension and skirts/lip but I haven't seen the Canadian pricing for those parts as yet.

What do you all think? Personally HFP stuff always seems a "tad" over priced to me. The trend continues with this trim. it's cool to see though.

It looks like the HFP is just a regular Si with the front lip, side skirts, HFP wheels, and 4S tires. You can get the front lip and side skirts purchased and installed for well under a grand. The HFP wheels are heavier than the Si wheels and also not as good looking. A full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S also not terribly expensive. A regular Si + all the gear that differentiates the HFP trim from it is way less than the HFP trim.

Buying the HFP trim seems like a waste of money to me.

Ok I am going off on a tangent here but according to honda.ca:

Normal SI = $30,470.00 CAD
SI HFP = $36,170.00 CAD
Type R =$41,090.00 CAD

The difference for each successive "trim" is about 5k ish, but the jump in offerings is significant going into the type R but for what the HFP offers? Not so much. But having this trim also makes the SI and the Type R a more apparent choice for their respective buyers. Also, I am not sure why honda would offer this as a preconfigured trim instead of loose parts like before.

And totally going off into the deep end on this one, does that mean Honda Canada won't be bringing over this rumored base type-R? there were speculations that this base type-R would get some body kit/navigation delete for cheaper. But seeing how we have a SI HFP at $36k, who in the right mind would buy it assuming a type-R could be had for marginally more?

There's been the HFP package for a bit in the US, and honestly, it's not really worth the additional cost of $4-5000 they usually want. I drove both quite a bit before deciding with the standard trip and just buying any aftermarket HFP stuff I wanted, as well as looking into getting different wheels I wanted. Save the extra money and customize to your liking with it.
Does the US have an actual trim level called "Si HFP" that slots above the base Civic Si? Because that what I'm talking about here. I haven't seen that on the US site but I do see references to the parts being available to accessorize the Si. It's possible I could have missed seeing that trim level on the US site.

I've definitely known about HFP parts for a while now, I was just pointing out the approach Honda Canada is taking of a dedicated model. I'd have to check with the dealer to see if I can order parts separately and for how much. Unless someone on the board knows the CAD pricing.

I already have an Si I'm just curious about this approach. I'm also wondering if I can get these parts separately. I'd be interested in pricing the suspension and the skirts. I'm more interested in the skirts than the suspension actually since an aftermarket suspension solution would be much more cost effective and actually lower the car a bit as well.

Yes this trim seems very expensive to me as well. I want to find out if these parts are available in Canada to purchase separately.

It's not considered it's own trim, it's just called Civic SI with HFP package and is a selected upgrade package. But they're identical to the offered Canadian trim. It would make more sense to consider it it's own model, because a lot of dealerships around my area list the price of SI's with the HFP package at around $23,900 in the hopes just to get people in not knowing the HFP package and then inform them "ohhh this model is actually $28,900" You can get the parts separately as well, I'm not sure about how it would work for Canada, but you can buy all the parts from http://hondapartsnetwork.com/
Yes exactly, Canada decided to go with a whole other trim with only two colour options (black/white) for the HFP stuff. So it's a bit different from how it works in the states. Hopefully Canada will have options for separate part orders but I'll have to dig further.

A bit out of topic, but I have seen around 3-4 HFP 2012 Civic coupes here in Vancouver, BC. They look nice and unique.

Just throwing this out there, after 2012 it was the refresh year. So another thing to consider is that 2019 Civic will probably be a refresh year for Civics.

Correction: the Type R with PDI/freight/etc. is $42,870 (Your Si prices included PDI/freight/etc. $41,090 is the MSRP.)

So for about 27k usd you get an Si with the touring headlights and the HFP package... not a bad deal honestly compared to the USDM offering.

I asked Honda Canada on Facebook and Instagram and they said we are able to buy everything separately but to call your local dealer for pricing and availability.

5K for a mismatched chin trim, ugly rims and slightly stiffer suspension? I’ll pass.
