The initial update released by Honda was not intended to fix the popping issue caused by Neural Surround. It was only intended to fix an error where no audio playing.

Honda has yet to release any fix for or statement about this issue. Please contact Honda Technical Support and report the issue to them. The only way we will get them to release an update for it is if they are aware of how widespread this issue is.

I also still randomly get no audio as well, so the update did not fix that either.

Entirely possible (probable?) there are other causes for no audio besides the power amp startup failure mode.

What are the chances of starting Lemon Law arbitration over this?
Entirely depends on the laws in your state. Most states require that you've been to the dealer for the same problem a number of times before you can even think about it.

And that the problem substantially impacts value and function. Like the car is worth thousands less and can't be drive except down hill or when the sun is out.

So I just read through this whole thread as I just started experiencing this same problem yesterday. This might be the most loud and annoying popping sound I have ever heard, I am thankful no one else was in the car with me to experience that. I will try calling Honda Tech Support like you have said and just hope they address this issue (along with the many others, lack of sound upon start up, etc...)

Thanks for starting this thread as I now feel your pain, especially in my ears. BTW the Neural Surround on/off setting fixes it (Thankfully!!) but I agree with previous comments as I have paid a great deal for this and many other features and I should expect them to work.

I'm currently asking for compensation in the form of accessories from Honda of North America, and I might actually be getting somewhere. I also plan on having the speakers checked for any that might be blown once a fix is established.

Let us know how you make out with getting accessories. There are a few things that I get.

Holy shit! That last noise was awful! Hopefully Honda tech will see this and realize the urgency of this issue..

Yeah the Honda tech was there. Good thing I had my bike to ride home and leave my car there. The Secretary's came out there offices thinking that it was a fire alarm.

First post...Love this forum and thank you everyone for contributing. Always had questions about my touring and you guy always help.
So am experiencing this loud popping noise as well, 3rd time since purchase about 1 month ago. I'll take to the dealer this week, hopefully I can record the problem the next time to show the dealership like TCcivicx did.

Wow! Good thing is was happening while you were there. Did the tech have to wear earplugs to diagnose?!

Honda's answer for now is a new amp for the stereo. I hope that this will fix it. The amp should be installed on Tuesday.
