Okay guys so I’m concerned with this and need help troubleshooting to see if I should take my car in. It does do this when driving the car at cooler temps but sound is not as evident. a little back ground, I have ktuner and injen CAI but I have flashed back to stock and utilized stock air box and the sound is still present, this is after driving 25 miles from work no heat on or A/C, normal driving nothing over 4000rpms and the car is routinely maintenanced and is currently sitting at 19k mileage. I really hope nothing major is wrong with the car!

Try it with the AC turned off. Mine went away with it off.

What did it end up being? I have a Type R with similar noises and it’s driving me crazy!

Try it with the AC turned off. Mine went away with it off.
What caused it and did you get it fixed? I run AC almost all the time in FL. This is not cool - pun intended.

Just picked mine up today and found this also. Sounds kind of like back in the day when using a cheap AUX cable and it picks up ignition signal and whirs through the stereo.

BUT that's not it in this case. Happens even with the stereo off, and does seem to go away when the fans/AC is turned off.

RPM based for sure, and still sounds like stereo speaker interference, but the conditions don't add up.

*edit - my whine is related to an AC suction hose in 2018 & earlier...apparently early 2019. There's a UK service bulletin to fix it, which US is unaware of unless you bring it to them: (different than Original Post it seems, if his is without AC on)

Again this ^ ^ does not appear to be the OPs issue. His sounds similar to a dry power steering pump IMO, although it's not related to turning in his case.

Never found a solution or cause for the sound.. I have some good friends that say it sounds like turbo is whining or less likely something in transmission.. unfortunately when I try to take it to dealer I can not replicate it the car decides to run noise free lol

Mine makes the exact noise, dealer says it's normal. I'm not sure though

I'd assume that it's the AC compressor. With AC off, the pulley on the compressor can spin freely, and when you turn it on, it drives the compressor. I've heard the noise from my 2.0L engine, and figured that's probably the case.

My LX 2.0 6mt does the same thing. But it’s weird how it doesn’t do it all the time. The sound kinda reminds me of a bearing when it’s going out. But because it doesn’t do it all the time it has me puzzled. And my car has 37k miles. I started noticing the sound around 32k miles, but only every now and then.

My FK8 '19 does it all the time since day1 buying new. Only when accelerating and doesn't matter if ac is on or off.
Could it simply just be the sound of the car, designed in but nothing is faulty, somewhat a "mistake" that doesn't effect performance but an inconvenience from Honda?
What about intake air filter vibrating when throttle body opens up to suck in air?
Or natural vibrations in down pipe and exhaust system that buzz under any acceleration as part of the first guess?

If you haven’t resolved it yet, you need to take a better video as too much fidgeting going on in the background to hear anything of substance.

Just an FYI on using anything other than Honda tranny oil. If your tranny does go out, honda will not cover it. They said the Castrol does not have the “same” lubrications properties and therefor the tranny lacked proper lubrications. It’s bs knowing the tranny was basically going out before I put the Castrol in. I threatened to go to court and they did not flinch. So be careful. by the way I didn’t tell them I was using Castrol. When there is a failure, they test the lubricant and found it wasn’t Honda lubricant.

I have that noise only recently after changing my stock intake to a prl short ram. Tomorrow I'll convert it to cold air and see if the noise goes away. Honestly this OP has intake and mine sounds exactly the same.

I'm thinking its intake resonance... considering we removed the resonator...
