Soooo...it is one single pipe but to look good you get 3 tips from that pipe?!? Oh! This is not good! It looks so "ricer"

lol, that is true, kinda weird that they did that. But hopefully it doesn't impede any performance.

After doing some reading, watching videos and hearing it in person ( @jonny7isa ’s) I decided to pull the trigger on the thermal exhaust with the new tips. Should be here on Tuesday. I love the deep rumble at idle it definitely sounds wayyy better than a fart can civic sound and not raspy either. I’ll find out about the drone when I install mine. If the Helmholtz chamber in the muffler does the trick then drone should be minimal if not absent. @Redline360 has the best price with free shipping use the code Welcome or Save3 and it’s a little under 1k shipped.

There is zero drone at constant speeds. Some
Drone on acceleration. Overall it’s great. Careful when you install the front pipe. It’s very tight and I had a rattle issue that went away after a second adjustment.

I had the same issue and mine went away as well. Still love this exhaust and the customer service from Thermal is awesome.

Just got my Thermal R&D exhaust on this past weekend and I couldnt be happier. For anyone looking for the best performance solution and a reasonable price I feel this should be at the top of your list. Big selling point for me was the front pipe that is a true 3" design with no step down at the flange. Take a look at the comparison to stock....some big flow improvements.

Quality was as expected and install took me just under 2 hours (by myself, no lift). I did weigh the thermal system at 51lbs total FYI. Have not weighed the stock system yet. I left all the clamps loose until everything was installed.. then checked clearance as i tightened everything down. No rattles, great fit.

Sound wise its great. Compared to stock at idle its not really that much louder but a higher overall town. Cruising at light throttle it has a nice growl to it.. I hated that the stock exhaust really had no definition to the sound. At WOT its pretty loud but sounds great...especially when TC kicks in or the rev limiter. Kinda raw and unrefined but I like it. You can hear some turbo now as well. At highway speeds its really good at ~75mph but does get a little buzzy if your cruising at 60ish mph.

Short video in my driveway.... It doesnt do it justice as it sounds a lot better under load. Its gonna sound great on the track and autox course this year. If you want to see more videos for the Type R in action this summer....follow me on youtube or search the_rose_garage on instagram

Does anyone have issues with it being really loud at partial throttle? I got my thermal exhaust installed this weekend and its louder than I expected, especially at partial throttle. I haven't had a car with an aftermarket exhaust on it for nearly 10 years, so it could be that I'm not used to it, but at this point I'm considering uninstalling it.
