Mostly positive.. Its my primary commute car, and I have gotten props from pick up truck drivers, thumbs up from a 991Gt3 and a couple of motorbikes.

I've let several of my friends take it for a spin and all spoke positively. One actually picked up a black one recently.

Here is a typical responce that people have when they see a CTR for their first time...

Lol pretty much exactly where I live...if you’re not driving a bro truck or a muscle car your ride is going to be hated on.

I have been totally unnoticed so far in my area. No comments or looks. Honestly would rather have it that way.

All positive responses, people on the road seem to love the way it looks (as opposed to the reviews). But sometimes it is hard to answer the question of "what kind of car is it". You tell them it is a Honda Civic Type R. They say "Oh, a Honda Civic", and you realize that most people have no idea about the Type R.

I get allot of positive responses. One called it a hoodlem car. Most people try to race me. I had a Prius try to race me the other day and one girl in an si flipped me off...
What color is your CTR? I am in C’ville and have only seen one other around, a PMM owned by the Sales Manager in Staunton. I have CW.

All positives so far!! Even yesterday being stopped at a light and a white BMW M4 rolls up besides me and wanted to go. Not sure if anyone is familiar with ocean parkway in Brooklyn...too many speed traps!!

Honestly, I received more attention with my former car which was a Hellcat. Im OK with it. Although, the Hellcat’s are a dime a dozen out here. I see challengers every 5 seconds in my area. They are everywhere

Yeah, I know Ocean pkwy, and more then likely you would lose your license if you raced there!
Also, that would be a interesting race, BMW M4 is no slouch!
I believe the BMW's have over 425 plus HP and about 3800 lbs and handling is in BMW's DNA.
But the CTR is a beast at 306 HP and weighing in at around 3100 lbs, and brought to us by the same engineers that created the NSX, so Honda can make even a Civic perform like a race car as it has accomplished with the CTR.
So it would be a very interesting race, am betting it would all be determined upon whom is the better driver as both of these cars are awesome.
But considering you could probably buy a CTR and a Si and still have money left over vs buying a M4, I kinda like the idea of a Si as my daily driver and the CTR for weekend balls to the wall fun!

So far, reactions have been very positive. My favorite so far was the first person to see it. It was being unloaded from the delivery truck and a little kid rode by on his bike headed to school, his mouth hung open and he said wow in a soft voice. It seemed totally involuntary and made me smile.

A m4 with DCT will own a CTR on the road / track if the m4 driver doesn't suck . Well... Most m4 drivers suck . In my area anyway .

i was at a red light , and because of the look of the ctr i always look back and around the sides to make sure someone isn't going to plow into me ., so i m on the left lane and as i m looking back, i notice the car on the right line is pointing to my ctr while hes trying to get his wife's atten., to also look., as i gripped my steering wheel tightly i said to myself this dude is gonna hit the guy in front of him at the light , i decided to pull away to the side all i can hear is a shabooooom . he completely rear ended the car in-front of him ., i always get thumbs up and stares lol but i love my fu%king type r!

My favorite was when the kids (like 10 year olds) in the neighborhood wanted to take pictures of it when I was washing it.
But I've gotten the traffic photo-takers, stoplight racers, and people giving thumbs up etc. A few people have stopped in parking lots to ask about it, and I love the car so love talking about it.
No real negativity, but that might be because I'm a girl and that may surprise the hate out of folks...

Exactly. Everything around here is purely SRT or above, GT350 or above, Vettes and Camaros... I've seen your car a few times (at least I'm assuming since there isn't to many blue CTRs here ;) Plus I get rando text from friends whenever they see your car lol

Still getting looks and appreciation. Got a thumbs-up yesterday morning. My wife, who riding shotgun, thought that maybe it was because of her. ;)

Same here. I can count on one hand the amount of random people that have said anything at all about my car. And I'd still have fingers to spare.

Folks, get over the looks of the car, good or bad. It's like y'all have chips on your shoulders or inferiority complexes and then post multiples of these types of threads every few weeks. Enjoy your car for yourself (and your family if that applies to you) and blow off the criticism. Do you think social media randos and auto journalists are driving only the most beautiful, sophisticated and fast Ferraris, Porsches and McLarens? No, they drive boring ass cars, too, the same as anybody else. Doug DeMuro, for instance, trashed the Civic Type R and he drives a clunker Range Rover and an old Defender. He literally knows nothing about sports cars beyond working in a cubicle at Porsche once.

If it still bothers you, well, you can always sell your CTR for close to what you paid for it and let someone who won't have that anxiety enjoy it. You can then purchase something more in line with mass appeal.
