Sure. You would need to buy the ECU, drive to the Honda dealer and get the immobilizer matched. The wrinkle is that the car can only be matched to one ECU at a time. So if you did this then your original ECU would not work unless you went through the same process at the dealer. So there is not really much advantage to getting a spare ECU at the moment.
To confirm @Hondata , you found a way around this and why you are offering an option to buy a second ecu? Thanks!

Just curious....if we have 2 type Rs, do we need to buy two FlashPro or we can just buy 1 FlashPro and tune both cars?

Yes, we can clone the original ECU. The immobilizer still works, but both ECUs can be swapped over without the need to program the immobilizer.

Know we are getting close to the official release and will know features. Any chance you can disclose if there is an area for speedometer correction?

Not at the moment. We're concentrating on the main features and calibrations, and after release we'll look at some of the other features.
But the first question should be why is the speed not correct? If it is the gear ratios then the gear ratio numbers should be changed in the ECU for correct operation (more difficult). If it is the tire size then the tire radius / diameter should be changed in the ECU (easier).

An adjustment for tire radius is what I had in mind. Changing from the stock 245/30R20 tire to a 265/35R18

There's probably more variation in the tire size between different manufacturers, tire pressure and wear than those two sizes. If you have specific tires in mind then find the manufacturer 'rolling radius' or revs/mile to compare. The sidewall sizes are subject to some variation and revs/mile are more accurate.
But yeah, speedo correction for tire size should not be hard to do, but probably after initial release.

@Hondata Got my ECU back today safe and sound. Thanks for the quick turn around time.

When can we expect news about Flashpro? Was hoping to see some dyno graphs and see what different tunes and features available at launch. Thanks!

To continue- I want to Ron 255-35-20 tires so that’s a kinda significant difference.

More information mon/tue next week. Dyno graphs, software, calibration will not be available until close to release. But that's less than a week now...
It's Tuesday, T-minus 3! :spaz:
