Yeah... where the write-up is going is making me lean towards modified stock turbo... drop-in... where our cores may cover a substantial cost of the upgrade.
According to 27won on Instagram it is not a core... it is a full direct OE style replacement that will work with all the stock turbo mods such as down pipes intakes etc.

next big questions - how much for turbo, how much for install, how long until hondata/ktuner create OTS maps for the turbo upgrade, how much headroom in the stock fuel system?
if it is a OE style drop in replacement as they stated it was on IG, it will not be hard to install. as far as OTS maps and fuel headroom that remains to be seen.

No way would I spend the money on a turbo upgrade and then run a base map, if they even make them. At that point just get a custom tune

I agree here. A base map to start from is not uncommon for upgrades like this though. Then again people would try to just run a base map without getting tuned and blow their crap up haha.

Some of us would turn wrenches or have a friend turn the wrenches, flash the OTS map, and then drive to a shop on the OTS map to get tuned(or avoid boost until then). This represents a considerable savings over paying a shop for labor+tuning.

On my 2002 WRX I swapped the VF34 turbo and ran their OTS map for a few months until I found a tuner and a dyno to use. The OTS map made just under 280whp on the dyno, and getting "protuned" brought it up to 297awhp. Sold it to my younger brother, who has since upgraded it further (EFR 7163)and is now running well over 400whp, still on the stock EJ205 with around 200k miles. He's dead set on setting the record for a stock block EJ205. He ran 11.6@117 this past fall.

driving to the shop, fine. driving any place else for any amount of time, no way. To each his own.

Had wideband, and EGT gauges, plus datalogging with CobbAP "StreetTuner" software. Their VF34 map is solid. Plenty of people ran it. Check out the level of detail in their map notes:

Shame hondata doesn't offer this level of verbosity and detail.

Man I miss the hell out of that car.

I get it, its possible. but this platform is barely two years old, this is one of the first turbo upgrades out and no one has had time to even look at making a basemap. So much is happening at Ktuner and Hondata in short time, with R and Accord now too. Who knows, maybe they are working on something

Its still dumb, the e40 car went faster, and the e40 will go faster again when it gets a turbo "upgrade" Still a good run into the 11s though
I think it's fair to say my car has both more milage and dyno/street tuning time than most Si's (or all). I may not post often but it doesn't mean myself and Daniel (tuner) are not testing. A blend & full E85 make the same power/torque (full E85 actually spooled quicker). Besides when it comes to truly pushing the limits of any motor, the more aggressive the tune the better fuel you should have (don't take my word for it, ask your tuner).

Will full E85 ruin the fuel system faster? Maybe, but no one from experience knows and now at 23,500 miles my fuel system is working just fine. Don't worry, I will gladly admit when the system finally takes a toll (if it does). That way regardless people do full E85 or blends, they will know the effects it has on our fuel systems (those that blend could just multiply the milage from the failed full e85 system to estimate if/when theirs will fail too lol).

So in the end, adding a full tank of E85 is just a convenience for me because I would hate to spend double the time at a local gas station just to drive to different pumps, re-enter payment to make a blend that won't add HP/TRQ.
If blending is convenient for you, good! But facts are facts, it won't make it faster.

I got you man. We hashed this before. Are you going out testing/racing again this weekend to get more from the new turbo setup?

No, we have actually done lots of testing already and based off the 11.8 run we clearly saw the time could get faster. I stand behind @27WON because I drive this car everywhere and the turbo has been working great! The reason Daniel and I decided to take it back to the drag strip was because we were just super curious to see how much faster it would be at the track, after seeing the results on the dyno. I am currently writing up a full build thread that will go more into detail with all of this.

Thanks everyone for watching and following, questions will all be answered soon!
