What is this number 10 you talk about?
I'm referring to the trusty #10 socket, which can handle the large majority of minor Honda repairs.

Any news on this unfortunate situation?
I've given up. I've grown tired of unretruned calls and conversations that end with me being informed that they can't help me because they can't replicate the problem. They need for the car to fail, after which it is towed to them, in order to investigate further. I can't afford to lose a day waiting for them to come and tow me back to the dealer (the whole entire process would surely take that long should it occur as Honda described). I don't have time to waste arguing with them, my last conversation with the dealer's 'Public Relations Expert' was a disaster, after which I told him exactly what I thought of him and his dealership. I probably shouldn't go back there for a while.

I've had one more breakdown, but in the interest of saving time I fixed it myself. I'm waiting for the next failure, after which I'll have it towed in in order to satisfy the requirements of a lemon law claim. The way I see it, my best bet is to stop stressing over it and let it happen - in the end I'll get my money back and Honda will have let me borrow a new car for about 6 months.

I will then buy a Hyundai. End of story (hopefully).

What is this number 10 you talk about? I have the same car but a 2017. I might want to get one. Also I must say that over 36 years of selling GM vehicles and listening to the BS about how much better Jap cars are over American cars, I NOW see that they are not. Sorry to hear about your situation. But I now know Honda or whomever isnt any better than GM or Ford etc. It all comes down to customer service and having a dealership that cares and has a top notch service department. They are just cars made buy humans that can go wrong, regardless of manufacture. I do hope you get your situation resolved. If you were here in Michigan I would tell you to go to Rivertown Honda in Grandville, at least the General Manager/service department cares about customers.
I find it funny that you read one person's horror story and think that that applies to every customer and the entire manufacturer.

I have been in the car business 20 years as well. Maybe reading some consumer reviews would be a better idea if you really want to see what people think about each manufacturer. Even working in an auto complex with multiple brands I can't pretend to know who has good or bad service, sales, or customer relations. To say that you know Japanese cars are just as bad or worse than domestic vehicles because you read this stuff on a forum and admit that you were working for a domestic car manufacturer is kind of ignorant don't you think?
