Well anything is possible, but there are some advantages of the AFM and one disadvantage. The AFM compensates for different conditions better than VE tuning and also most modifications are compensated for by the nature of the AFM. The disadvantage of the AFM is that when stock it is close to the voltage limit, but a slightly larger housing will fix that.
Alpha-N is not going to work with forced induction (alpha-N is where fueling is determined by rpm and throttle position only). VPC brings back memories of the Supra in the 90s - they worked horribly for most people. But I understand what you're asking - I'd stick with the speed-density AFM system for now, otherwise you're be trading a less complex intake system for a more complex tuning experience.
Thanks for the thorough explanation.

You’re looking at the first customer Type R that’s Hondata equipped
The power feels extremely smooth throughout the entire rpm range. The torque kicks you in your seat!

Before I get asked:
I’m not allowed to release pricing, power numbers, or features.
For today, I can only talk about the driving experience and how it feels. IT FEELS GOOD! THE POWER FEELS GREAT! :headbang:

I'm always jealous of your car. Lol. I might steal that wrap though. Wish I had some kind of hookup for the Flash Pro so I can be the first R on Humble Performance's list of FK8's tuned

@Hondata

Would we use the current flash manager software to tune the CTR or will there be a special version for us?

When will we be able to get our first look at the tuning software?

Yes, same software as every other FlashPro. We probably will not release the software until the day of release, but it is going to contain most of the same tables - ignition, knock, fuel, camshafts, throttle, launch. Tuning the Bosch ECUs is different from the Honda ECUs in many ways so we'll release tuning information after the release as well.

This wait is brutal, worse than a kid waiting on Christmas lol.

Any chance we can get a look at some dyno graphs soon? Also can you share what calibrations or stage tunes will come at launch.

I know you guys are probably still getting results from tests cars. Just excited, need something to hold me over till the 30th.

@Hondata
So we will be able to use our current Flashpro devices if we have one from a previous vehicle? And then just pay for the unlocking?

We will have to rely on oil cooler and motor temperatures.

@Hondata, can you do logging without flashing or unlocking the ecu? I'm not quite ready to flash the ECU but I'm still interested in reading the datalogs.

Yes and no. You can datalog using a FlashPro, but only about 60% of the sensors will show correctly. The rest has been added in or altered and require a FlashPro reflash to read correctly. The reason is that some sensors are missing on a stock ECU, and others have limitations (eg the MAP only goes to 255 kPa stock - we increase the range).

Just wanted to share a couple points after over a week on having my car Hondata equipped:

The car continues to impress with its instant power. Traction seemed to be in issue gears 1-3. I found out that it goes away after getting the tires hot! For my goals, I need gears 2-4 to put power down when I'm at the track for road course events. The added power feels great and I'm sure my RE-71rs help!
