You may have just missed it but they pushed back the shipping until late march or early april...see above.
I did miss that, my bad... I just got all excited when I saw that they posted the install video on Youtube...

Hey Guys!

I know it's been a minute since I've been able to give you any sort of update, but I'm back with yet another teaser!

Honda Civic 10th gen Mishimoto's 2017 Type R Intake R&D Thread IMG_9730

Our hoses and filters are ready and waiting to be packed up once the airboxes arrive! I'll hopefully have an eta on that as well ASAP.

Question for Mishi: I will be flashing my ECU with the KTuner V1.2 next week and am wondering if I should have any concerns about installing your intake now? I'm guessing that you have not tested your intake with the KTuner flash calibrations? Any advice you guys can give on this would be much appreciated.
That is a very good question! So, we did not do testing specifically with the KTuner software. But, after doing a little bit of research on the product, you shouldn't run into any issues with the flash. Since their reprogramming is more on the universal side, and our MAF housing is about the same size as stock, you should be getting the best of both worlds without any trouble.

I did miss that, my bad... I just got all excited when I saw that they posted the install video on Youtube...
Sorry for the false alarm :p We're just getting all of our ducks in a row for when we start shipping!

Thanks guys, let me know if you have any more questions!

Hey @Mishimoto ,

Thanks for the update and the recent install video on YouTube. I actually watched it yesterday because I had to take my intake box out for other purposes. It also helped me get more familiar with it so when your intake comes in it'll take no time .

However I ran into 1 problem, there is one hose clamp the video doesn't show you taking loose that has to come off to get the intake tube off. (I should have a picture attached)

In your video I can see you loosened it cause it moved but it also looks like it has a hex head and a flat slot for a screw driver. Where as mine looks like a worm gear with a rivit head! Did honda put different clamps in some type r's? In order to remove the intake tube this fitting must come out. Any idea as to how we are going to be able to do this? Looks like you have to drill it out? Maybe I missed something haha. Anyways, if you could look into it, that would be awesome. Thanks again for all your hard work and dedication.

That just looks like the back side of the hose clamp. The other side isn't a hex/flat head?

Nope, I thought maybe so too. There are multiple clamps like this on the same line. Can some other people check there's so I can know its not just mine lol

Damn you are right! Mine is the same way. I have no idea how we are going to get these off. They use two more on the other end of the tube underneath the engine cover. @Mishimoto help!

Take a heavy duty pair of pliers and snap them off, you won’t need them after anyways.

Too all of my friends wondering why the clamp looks so alien is because honda decided to use a clamp with a breakaway style head (lord only knows why). similar to the bolts used on ignition cylinders. basically you tighten the head of the bolt until it literally breaks off. best way to loosen these is with a vise grip. other options include using a small cutoff wheel to make a notch for a Flathead screw driver. or just cut the dam thing off haha

Very strange, all the clamps on my intake tubes have a phillips head. I just had to take out my intake yesterday to install the Acuity shifter cable bushings, so I am sure of it.

I too just installed hybrid racing shifter cable bushings. It was a bitch! Had to take the intake, battery, battery tray, intercooler hard pipe, and a couple other lol brackets off just to do it!

you don't need to check. All Type Rs have that kind of clamp on the rubber tube right by the aluminum intake pipe.

the big hose clamps for the intake tubes are phillips/ 5.5mm head.

but the clamps holding the vacuum line on the tube right by the aluminum pipe is the one he posted.
I called it tamper proof clamps but I guess they had a real name for it.

Considering you don't need to fully remove your intake pipe in order to get to those bushings I bet you only removed the box and the accordion looking tube.
