Optional: Morimoto 2-Stroke LEDs inside stock low beam projector. No additional glare.

RetrofitSource also sells what they call a ‘retro-quick’ kit for the 2016+ Civic. Comes w/ an adaptor plate so you just swap your stock low beam projectors with their H1 Mini. If I do it over again, I will use this kit.
Hey! How do you find the morinoto compared to stock bulbs when you're driving at night?
Thanks!

After driving with them for a while, I feel like the Halogens have better throw. I wouldn’t buy them again. I’m going to get the listed ‘retro-quick’ Kit from TRS once it warms up a little this spring & moving to the Xenon bulb w/ proper projector.

FWIW: The LEDs match the DRLs perfectly, though.

Not sure why YouTube is converting my video to potato quality... but this was my rain and fog drive into work this morning.

There's no substitute for putting a proper HID setup in.

The Authentic Honda LED lamps are not plug and play. The harnesses are different. The Depo version is plug and play but users have reported that they are in fact not very good at actually lighting the road ahead. They are more for looks from what Ive read

I watched your other LED headlight video on your Youtube channel and wondering why at 0:49, the upper cut-off is not a straight line but a staircase line? What caused that? And how does it look to oncoming drivers? Anyone flashed you yet?

I have HID headlights, not LED. It's a complete retrofit HID projector in the OEM housing. You can check out more about my install here:
https://www.civicx.com/threads/fx-r-3-0-retrofit.15997/

The step in my cut off is on every car, but it's more prevalent in a HID designed lamp with a clear lens and a super sharp cut off line. This is there for a few reasons. Mainly, it keeps lots of light on the non-traffic shoulder of the car, but does not blind oncoming traffic due to the higher cut off. It also increases the hot spot of the light casting so that you get more throw directly in front of you.

The OEM lights have this also, but it's very hard to make out due to the lens on the OEM projectors. It's not clear so it casts more light in random directions. This helps with illuminating signs and seeing things outside the headlight beams... but it also takes away from your headlight output.

You can see in this picture I took before installing the retrofit headlights. I marked the step on the OEM headlights so I had a baseline for aiming the new lamps.

My Si came standard with the LED from the touring. My old eyes (40 lol) seem to love it at night.

So why aren't you people who like led but prefer the halogen housings just buying led bulbs? Seems simple enough.

There is a somewhat convincing review of some options here (if you can get by the annoying beginning of the video)-

Some of the better bulbs they tested can be found on aliexpress for a lot cheaper
It's illegal to put hid or led bulbs in a halogen projector assembly, at least in Virginia

It won't pass inspection in Virginia, but after that I think it's fair game lol. I had to buy new headlights for my 2002 Celica because the ones I had on were aftermarket PITA.
