I was starting to work on my HID kit and noticed my windshield cowling is starting to pull away on both sides. It's created a gap between the metal and the plastic and seems like it has shrunken a bit - I can't just pull it back into place. This would leave some space for water to enter the engine area. Anyone else seen this? Worth a dealer visit?

Mine has been like this for a while now, I can't say I really took notice of it when I bought the car though.

Yeah. I can't say if it was like that at purchase, but I'd need it fixed before I put in my HID kit. Water could go right in there. FWIW, one of my high-wall floor mats is warped too. Gonna go to the dealer sometime soon.

Yeah mine is very similar. I don't know that its an issue. I don't notice any leaks, its not coming off completely, etc.

Mine's like that too. I am having the dealer look at it when I get my first oil change.

Mine is that way too, it might be by design.

Went to the dealer -they're gonna put a new one in. I can see little tabs on the cowling where they're supposed to grab the metal. I normally not THIS picky except I'm putting my Morimoto HID kit in soon and it looks like there's a (small) possibility of water running along the fuse box area and down behind the driver's-side headlight, etc, where I'll prob have a rats nest of wires. I'd rather not risk my kit when a quick warranty repair will give me full peace of mind. The poor Quality Engineer that has to deal with this though. I apologize in advance... :/ If others are seeing it, there's clearly an issue as it's supposed to be flush.

I have the same problem, went to the dealer and they told me I should have checked it before I drove the car off the lot when I first purchased it...

Mine's like that, it was like that when I got it. I don't see it making a difference though...

Still a warranty issue. They should fix it regardless, esp since the dealers get money from warranty work. Also, it shouldn't be the consumer's job to notice minor defects like that at buy-off. Did they say they would fix it?
