If you are truly a Honda fan's no matter how old you are, you will be still driving that flashy type R, it's a childhood toy that stay in heart for the rest of your life, and there is nothing can replace that feeling, I am in the late 40s, a teenager drive a BMW M3 pull up beside me at the stop light and look at my and then he give me a thumb up, I will be still driving my type R at the age of 80 if my health conditions allow me. So in other words I don't really care of what other people think, all I know it my toy and I own it, it make me happy every time I driving it, and when I not drive it I will be missing it.

The Type R was nearly impossible to see without a crowd at the International Auto Show (Detroit) which shocked me. This is a heavily domestic crowd but the Type R was stacked deep with viewers. I went twice and both times I went to the Type R probably 4-5 times during my time at the event. That poor demo car was quite beat up by the final day! Missing pieces in the engine bay from people snagging them.

Man, that's why we can't have nice things. I do notice that sometimes manufacturers don't put in shift knobs and the like, because people can't just go and admire the car, they have to steal shit.

Sounds like what this show was like. A lot of the cars were missing their shift knobs - including the CTR. I am curious if these were stolen, or they were removed by the exhibitors to prevent theft.

The Accord Sport 2.0 I sat in was one of the few MTs that DID have the knob installed.

So my dillemma, how to explain to a pair of 7 and 9 year old boys that their dad (age 45) would look like a midlife crisis on wheels in this car!
You stop caring what "appearances" are, you buy it, you become world's most awesome dad [to your boys].

I get WAY more comments from people while driving, getting gas, etc in the ctr than I do in my new Porsche lol. People love asking about it or looking at it. Even had an older guy follow me to the gas pump to ask about it. Never one comment in the P car lol

Why not, the hatch(LX) looks just like another hatch(CTR) and not everyone can pull off a CTR with it's big wing and even bigger ADM price. But there is practical side to this so there is definitely a method to my madness. For 1, better FE with a similar muted engine w/o an exhaust note, 2: it is still a hatch body style with 2 small wings but not big one (who cares for us 40+ guys) 3: the suspension might be a wash given how good the hatch suspension is. 4: automatic transmission (no grinding of gears) with a hatch body style without the body kit for lower profile and more discrete for humbleness! loads of practical esp. if you don't stick shift and spend that time thinking instead of worrying if you got it in gear or will it pop out, will you stall in a crucial time or be hung out to dry on a clothes line.

I wouldn't do it myself cause I ilke the dual spoilers on the regular hatchs, love the suspension so don't need a upgrade there, love the gr8 gas mileage, like the automatic cvt/turbo combo, love how inexpensive it is (buy 2 hatches for the price of 1 CTR right now with ADMs).

I'm not encouraging as much as I am saying it can be done by just adding the wing.
I don't mind mods and big wings, I get bothered by clones. They're not R's and that's fine, but don't be fakin the funk.

I get EK9 clones, we didn't get them, they don't make them anymore, and we still can't import them.

Clone away.

The FK8 is a new car that's still on dealer lots, go buy it, don't clone it.

Honda cloned the CTR when they made it look like a clone to the regular hatch
Ha! I'm generally think it's kind of dumb to rebadge cars to make them look like a higher trim/package... but *that* is a unique point of view.

I have an Si... and it's great and all, but the performance difference between a N/A 2.0 LX and my Civic would likely be smaller than the difference between my Si and an R. Between it's powertrain and suspension... it is practically a different car behind the wheel.

Wait ... wut?

Generally they develop the performance model and remove stuff to make the base models, so it would be the other way around.
