Outside of PRL this is true. I wouldn't be surprised if Mishi is getting an intercooler from PRL to scope out before they release theirs

That’s what I would prefer to see from any fabricator producing any brand new parts for a brand new car

It gives you that reassurance when upgrading the love of your life haha

I think he got confused...I almost thought there was an option for a different color also, but realized it was just talking about the catch can

I already have the catch can with red bracket. Got confused when i try to order the intake and have the drop down box for color option.

The Injen intake might not be an enclosed design but it does come with a heat shield. The wrinkle red finish versions also seem to insulate better than the polished.

@Mishimoto Would you say there is a big improvement in sounds (always hard to tell fom the vids)? I seem to see a bigger difference w the Injen intake, but would rather go with you guys...

Hi Mishi - love the intake. A couple of questions - I'm looking for that turbo sound, in the videos that you uploaded are they off the final spec closed box? It sounds fantastic but I thought it was likely the video was of the open filter?

There's definitely a huge boost in the turbo soundtrack with our intake. I haven't had any personal experience with the Injen intake, and the box might muffle the sound slightly, but the open filter design is going to pull in a lot more heat from the engine bay, which will end up in your intercooler.

In my incredibly biased opinion, ours is the best combination of sound and performance, but at the end of the day I want to make sure that you're getting what's best for you

Yup we have the full box installed in the dyno sound comparison and the hot-lap videos!

We will be releasing this in the UK, but our international releases typically come 3-4 weeks after the US release.

so ive heard injen intake is a huge bust and claims to make more hp blah blah blah and ppl have tested it and it did nothing for performance upgrade..if i get this mishimoto intake how can i have the faith that the numbers you claim are true? isnt injen using false advertising by making these claims of more hp?

I would check out Mishimoto’s Engineering Blog. The way they provide their information is awesome and one of the reasons I choose to be a customer.

Hey Christpher,

That is an excellent question! If you look back to our last Engineering Blog post, we take steps to ensure that the power gains we publish are as accurate as possible. For instance, making sure that the fuel trims have leveled out on the intakes comes into play, and also running our tests in the same environment. For instance, we ran the stock comparison (as shown in our video) about 1-2 hours apart to make sure all of the factors that play into the dyno runs were roughly the same, as well as having time to level out the LTFT between pulls.

Granted every car is different and will yield different results, but we wanted to be sure that our testing results were as close to real-world as possible

Hey Nick. I have a question about the filter used. What is the base OD, flange ID , flange length, media height, top OD of the air filter used. I need those dimensions so I can source out another filter so I can swap it out when my intake comes in. I’m not a big fan of oil based filters.
