True, but give it about a decade and watch the price of a stock Evo X go through the roof.... same thing will happen with the CTR once it is out of production. Thats what most who paid ADM are banking on.
It's going to take longer than a decade considering how many CTR's are being produced. S2000's aren't exactly collector status yet and the vehicle was introduced almost 20 years ago.

So everyone on here who hasn't been able to get a CTR must have provoked the dealer in some way when they walked in the door? This is an absurd post certainly being polite helps but this is about dealer greed plain and simple killing them with kindness isn't going to change that.
I wasn’t saying all dealers will work with you, yeah dealers are greedy, they see a golden ticket for markup. Everyone’s best bet is finding a sales person that’s not an idiot. I had a dealership that is trying for 15k ADM, call me two weeks after I bought my Type R somewhere else, finally give in to my 700 only over. I asked him, “is this for everyone, or just me?” He said “just you because I’ve been hounding the GM, saying that I can sell this car right now.”

I’ve been talking to him since last January, when I was the first person to ask about it. They wanted 10k over before it was even released. I get my cars serviced there, and talk to him every time he’s there, and give him a call seeing if they’ll budge.

Just a tip for people really wanting one. Both of these dealers were in California as well.

In Fontana, I believe it has like 8 miles on it. Sunrise Ford. It has MSRP of $43k but selling for $34k Nitrous Blue. They priced that one at $60k at one point lol
CHecked Sunrise's website tonight and all they had were 17's and a couple 18's on order. Didn't see any 16's.

Still can prob get a 17 pretty cheap. I need to start hammering these dealers and use the head gasket issue in my favor.

Nah, people who paid ADM either had to have it now or were trying to make a quick flip/profit.

With regards to my 2018 CTR purchased 3 days before Xmas, to be honest I think there is a category of people that fall in the middle of what you describe. I didn't have to have it now and I certainly didn't and wont every flip it. I simply didn't mind paying a few thousand over MSRP. I wasn't in a rush - quite the opposite. There are plenty of folks out there that aren't turned off by $3-5K over MSRP. That's just the way it is.

Arrowhead Honda in Phoenix quoted me a CTR at 42K ttl. After asking to negotiate, I got no response.

Edit: got a response. They said they were “holding firm” on the price. On to the next one..

Visited Honda world Westminster yesterday and they would take 3k adm plus accessories for their black type r. Didn't want the black one so I didn't do much negotiation on that deal to remove the accessories. Wanted $4k for the pmm.

After all of my searching and going to dealers is if you live in the southwest CA, AZ, OR, UT, NV, WA, NM, TX you will pay $39-42k plus TTL. I finally gave in an looked for a used CTR and I was $41k delivered to my door, high yes but I got the color I wanted and serial below 70.

As for other people on this forum trying to sell a CTR from a dealer that went south real quick. I don't really have time for games and time is money since I am rarely in the US. I asked to see the car if it aint ready and your not ready go fck yourself. I was gonna pay the $5k adm right then and there but the forum member messed up.

If your willing to get a used one lmk via pm I'll give you a contact. But avg price was $37k used at wholesale. One was in FL started at $32k in 10 min it jumped to $42k. You want the car you gonna pay for it, the dealers are always trying to make just a few more dollars on one sale and in the end it ruins the integrity of a dealership and customer relations.

Westminster called back with a better deal but we couldn't close. $2k ADM. I approached them yesterday with that offer and they didnt take it.

In the nice list, someone got theirs for MSRP from Honda Valencia. It's possible you guys.

IMHO i wouldn't be surprised if socal dealers are price fixing. I've gotten the line "These things are selling $10k over" from multiple dealers.

I think the Valencia guy paid for accessories. That’s what the sales guy told me, anyway.

Nobody in SoCal should expect msrp. That’s just the sad reality. I think a few people got good deals early but the dealerships are smelling the $$$ and they’re going for it.

The best deals I’ve heard were 2 msrp 2017s in riverside somewhere a Month or so ago

Dont forget to also broaden your search out of state. I have a few other options I just need to wait for the right time.

I tried to buy the one with accessories from Valencia... see my post in the nice thread. IMHO Valencia is the most honest of any of the SoCal dealers i have tried. We just couldn't reach an agreement.

cheers,
