Civic engine from yesteryear 1.8L to present 2.0L tend to burn more oil if put more pressure on it whereas Accord and Sonata 2.4L can handle more pressure if required thus less oil to burn. So you gotta keep low rev to put less pressure on the engine. Accord engine is 2.4L, thus the bit pricer.
Speaking of large car, Civic Touring is almost the same size as Accord now. Your case might be different because you have 1.5L turbocharged engine so you should be okay in term of handling pressure-wise and more horsepower.

Ya, my previous car was an Accord, and I was surprised at the roominess of the 2016 Civics. They are probably the same size as an Accord was 15 years ago. The Accord has become too big for me. Still looks great though. Just reading some old threads so thought I would interject a bit in this one. I now have around 27k on my 2016 Civic Touring. Not one problem. My average fuel (*and I drive very spirited) is approximately 36.5mpg. I have owned 5 Civics, 3-4 Accords, Porsche, Mercedes, Lexus, Toyota and my wife currently drives a LandRover., I still say this is the best car I have ever owned. And we were chatting about the Touring but comments were made about a 2.0, which is not what is in the Touring. I should add now that the Accord is transformed it might not be a bad choice once again. Honda has done great with it.

I couldn't disagree more with post 13. (and the civic tourings (not type R) have 1.5L engines.) The brand new 2018 Accords look great but I am smitten with my Touring, or as I call it, my forever car.

The problem is this thread was from 2 years ago before the new 2018 Accord was released. So today I'm sure this conversation have new meaning as the new 18 Accord Sport 2.0T is pretty bad ass

I traded my '17 Hatch Sport for an '18 2.0t 6MT Sport, so far I've been very happy with the decision, I think dollar for dollar it's a better deal than the Touring Civic.
