So I posted a question in the audio forum and didn't get any responses. Wanted to rephrase the question here to see if maybe someone can shed some light on what my problem is.

Basically the car makes what seems to be a faint buzz/static noise out of the front passenger area when letting off the gas and it goes away when reapplying the gas. Also notice it goes away once the clutch is fully pressed in. It seems to me it's coming from the speaker but I can't be 100% sure since I had a passenger in the car hear it too but couldn't exactly place it. It most obviously happens when in the 45-75 mph range after letting off the gas after a hard acceleration. It is definitely some kind of electrical interference type sound and happens no matter which source the stereo is on, even when off and even with the Bluetooth unpaired. Assuming it was absolutely not coming from the speaker, what else could it be? As a reference, I had my throwout bearing go out in my BMW not that long ago and this sound is nothing like that. I explained that sound more like a mechanical dentists drill. I also noticed this after I received the car back from the dealer after they were realigning the front bumper which had a gap in it(which they only made worse) so not sure if it could have anything to do with that or either I didn't notice it before or just coincidence. Any idea from anyone would be greatly appreciated as I'm taking the car in on Friday and I'm very afraid of the dealer saying they can't find the problem and being stuck with this car and it's annoying buzz!

I've noticed the slight buzz when putting in the clutch. It sounds to me like it is coming from the tweeter, but it hasn't ever been bad enough for me to do anything about it.

I have a 16 Touring auto and I have noticed some static from my front tweeters on occasion. I am just living with it since Honda cant seem to fix any other issues I have with this car. I am so done with them, its disappointing

An update on this issue- the sound is 100% linked to the RPM's. It mostly happens on deceleration between 2700-3200 RPM's. If I let off the gas in this rpm range it buzzes. If I hit the gas it stops. If I hit the brakes to below the range it stops. I'm really hoping someone can shed some light on what's causing this annoying buzz!

Definitely an issue on mine as well. I had the dealer check it out on my 16 civic and they said they couldnt hear anything. I heard it there and sometimes in the 17 hatch.

I know you said electrical buzz but heat shields will often make such a noise when loose and usually paired with accel/decel at certain rpms. On subarus this is very common due to placement of shield but not sure on the civic. When cooled get under there and see if you can move the shields at all.

I am so glad I found this thread!

I am having the same exact problem as Dsgstp8d described. It usually occurs on longer highway drives. Once the noise starts, it will last the rest of your drive which is extremely annoying.

I tried to pinpoint where the vibration is coming from and it seems to be on the left hand side of the passenger foot well. Either near the heat vent or behind where the USB port is.

I am uploading a video of the noise. Vibrating/buzzing noise is occurring while driving within the RPM range as Dsgstp8d mentioned. Noise persists even when the stereo system is powered off.

check the a pillar covers, you can stick a namecard between the pillar and the dash and se if it goes away. It worked for me!

At the risk of jinxing myself, the buzz has been fixed! I picked up the car from the dealer last night and have put about 60 miles on the car since and no more buzz! According to the dealer it was an A/C line that needed to be adjusted. I'm really hoping that this was the problem and I wont have to deal with it anymore. Also hope that this information helps someone else get their issue sorted out.

I didn't get any specific information but I will ask the service advisor and post here if there is any update.

Sorry for the lack of update guys! Thankfully this has been resolved. In my case, apparently there was an issue with an air conditioning hose behind the dash which needed to be secured. Not sure how the tech figured that out but it's been buzz free every since! Hope this helps!

My car is only 4 or 5 months old, with barely over 5000 miles and about 1.5 months ago. I noticed a noise coming from rear of the car. I had just installed the Oem cargo hook. And I also half removed the trunk lid after installing the rear red Honda badge. ( in order to get the stupid broken pin out) Thinking I screwed something up...

The noise is NOT physical as in something is loose or knocking against each other. No “hard” sounds. It is much more static like, feedback like, electrical interference type of sound.

I tried a few things to fix it and to no avail. I finally took it to dealer and before doing so. I checked again.

If you lightly tap the right speaker, it makes a solid type of sound. As if you are hitting a hard solid type of surface like a brick.

If you tap the left speaker though. It replicates identically the same type of noise this whole ordeal started with.

It looks as if the speaker blew somehow, or something internally is loose. (I do not blast the volume), I like to hear the engine rev and working. So I very rarely have volume above 15.

I just had this replaced under warranty. And they didn’t give me any problems.
