Was 80F today. Not a drop of rain in the last 8 to 9 months.

F that!! I hate spiders. Creepy little buggers.
You don't need to worry about suspension clunking, but you have to make sure you don't drive into a wild fire. Be safe!

We finally made it above zero today in Minneapolis. My Civic has been sitting frozen on the street since the 26th of December. I started the engine for a couple minutes on Sunday, but otherwise it hasn't moved.

Today was the first day above zero since at least Friday. I started it up this morning at -8 and she struggled for a couple seconds but slowly came to life. It took a long time for the engine to warm up, I drove on the freeway for probably 5 minutes and the temp gauge was still dropping when idling at stop lights. Overall I have been impressed how the car has handled the cold.
On my way to work yesterday I noticed that it was running just a bit cooler than normal after 30 minutes at highway speeds...

Other than that my Si has been handling the cold well so far... aside from the sudden 4 mpg decrease.

It's been between -10 and -15 for about 7 days here in Western MA. She started without issue as well, it's a good feeling.

Did you have your climate control set to max heat with fan on high? I wonder if it's stealing engine heat from the coolant and idling can’t keep up when it’s below zero.

No, I usually just use the heated seats and let the engine warm up before I route heat into the cabin. It's probably due to the smaller size of the engine and modern engineering, allowing the engine to remain as cool as possible. It hasn't been a problem, other then the heat not being the greatest at startup, but I do like the heated seats and the remote start certainly helps.
