Why wait for May? Condensation works both ways. That metal gets really cold in the winter. Then start your car and heat the cabin after it's warmed up. Keep the heat high. tadaaaaa condensation

I guess to check it, turn on the air and see if it's condensation or something leaking. But have to wait until at least May, now.

How the hell did that weld make it off a line good lord, Take it in now!
You will be wasting your time taking it to the dealer. Go look inside any civic, accord or CRV and so on and you will find the same thing. Other brand of cars would be the same.
The weld itself looks fine. These are machine welded. When it is welded and cooled on air eventually you will get surface rust if not protected from moisture in the air.
Your car's A/C or heat will have zero effect on it. If you live on the coastline/ or near salt water and your car is exposed to salty air your car will rust away from the outside first before you will have damage inside.

lol guess he didnt like us telling him that the rust he was looking at was normal
lol. That was good guess. I was checking my two other cars from Nissan. They DO NOT have this kind of rust problem. It also happened in South Korea. google "Honda Korea rust problem". And see what Honda Korea decided to do.

almost every car i have owned has had rust that looks like that under the dash.

its because those parts are NOT painted so they tend to get rust over time. I have yet to ever see them rust out mainly only on the surface
Yep. Back in high school, I worked as an installer at a local mobile electronics store. I spent a lot of time laying in floorboards looking up underneath dashes in brand new cars, classic cars, and everything in between. It wasn't uncommon to see rust underneath the dashes.

That doesn't look all that unusual if it's inside the car. The weld alters the steel and causes some rust.

As for that Nissan Versa with no rust.... well I had one for about 2 years. It was a first generation assembled in Mexico. Build quality was not good. Lots of clunks rattles and squeaks. Some really weird suspension thunk and engine mount resonance the dealer could never find or resolve. But no, I didn't have any rust. :)
