I'm going crazy here or maybe its just normal and all in my head!

I installed xenondepot HID philips H11 bulbs. Followed instructions, removed and installed all the correct parts, etc etc. I installed these in our regular halogen projectors (i know its not the best setup)

When I go over bumps they bounce, not a lot, almost like a flutter. Its driving me crazy.

Is this normal? anyone else have this issue with their aftermarket HIDs?

Thanks in advance!

I have them and have no bouncing issues like your having. Did you install the bulb in the projector housing the proper way? I had a hard time pushing the seal in for the tabs to grab in the housing. I bet it's sitting loose in it.

I don't have the philips bulbs though I went with the 6500k xenondepot branded hids

Mine went in smoothly. I’m 100% sure all 3 tabs are in correctly. Also it’s nice and tight when I try to wiggle them from the back.

It’s not really a bounce, more like a shudder when hitting bumps or lane markers on the road. I have my beams pointed a bit lower after I removed the halogens.

I don't have that problem with mine. Do you think maybe the bulbs are defective then? Or maybe try putting in the halogens again and do a test run to single out if its the hid rather than the housing.

Mine may be pointed down a bit too much and I may actually be seeing the hotspot and ray bounce. Did you adjust the beam when you installed yours?

I’ll check the fittings again tomorrow morning.

Thanks for all your input so far!

I did not adjust my lights at all because my cutoff seemed perfect and I had a buddy drive my car towards me as I sat in his and it had minimal glare.

No problemo, that's why we are all here on this forum.

Well guys .. I woke up and went to work and these were shuddering hard. Normal bumps didn’t produce the shudder, but on descent sized ones the lights looked liked they were having a stroke.

I use to have DDM 55w in the housing and I’m starting to think that they may have damaged the interior support/insulation. Now that I have 35w xeonoxdepots , I believe I am seeing the hotspot (since everything was lit up with the 55w and now with the 35w they have a more defined one)

My plan is to switch to LED. I know they don’t throw as well but they are still better than any halogen. I just ordered some from amazon. I’ll keep you guys updated

Returning the xenondepot soon

I actually swapped over the seals from my factory halogens to my Morimoto HID's to get a perfect seal. I'd recommend it to anyone having trouble.

Did you have the issue I am having or did you just do that to begin with?

I couldn't get the HID lights to turn and tightly lock into place using their seals, so I swapped over the seals from the factory lights. Got a very tight seal with that.

I'd read that a loose seal can cause what you're seeing. I'd give it a shot.

As you can see my HID bulb from xenondepot is a philips bulb , and so is my halogen. Both have the same ring. My bulb fits very snug.

I’m starting to believe 3 things.

1. My 55w DDM bulbs screwed up the inside part where the 3 clips on the bulb sit.

2. This was always happening. But because I had 55w instead of of 35w, everything was brighter and I didn’t see much of a bounce (it all blended in)

3. Last , I recently pointed my light down a notch. That is givin me a hotspot closer to where my eyes are on the road and I’m just noticing this now.

I have the Morimotos. My first set did shake when I drive over bumps. I asked for replacements and these don’t bounce/shake. Only when I go over bigger bumps.

We gotta remember that these housings aren’t meant for the longer HID bulbs. So, the longer the bulb, the higher chance of it shaking. I’m content with my set up, until I save up enough funds to do the full Quick retrofit by Morimoto.
