Hello CivicX!
A Brief intro:
I'm no newbie to the civic platform.
Here are photos of previous cars when they were at their prime:

I've been wanting to purchase a Type R ever since it came out. However, the premium prices dealers were asking is ridiculous. I never paid over sticker for a car and I refused to. The search began months ago when I started visiting dealers to see colors for MY2017. After finding out that dealers in NY wanted a price range of $40,000-$60,000 for the car, I gave up my search.
Pre-Delivery Day - November 18th, 2017
------------------------------------------------
It was a normal Sat morning when my little brother told me a dealer (dealer #1) had left me a message on Friday regarding a 2018 Championship White Type R that they just got in. After listening to their message, it seemed like they were offering the car for a good price. I headed down there during the afternoon to negotiate. After negotiating, they wouldn't go below a price of $49,990. There was no chance in hell I would even consider paying that much. I figured I would continue my search for the day and see what other dealers were offering. I walked out and headed to dealer #2.
Dealer #2 had a RR Type R in stock but the front bumper was drilled for the license plate (morons, I know). I knew I wouldn't be interested in purchasing that particular car. However, I did ask one of the guys about the price. He came back with a price of $40,000. Yup, you guessed it right, I walked out. Before deciding to end my search for the day (and possibly forever), I headed to dealer #3.
Dealer #3 had a 2018 PMM Type R in stock. When I arrived, I was greeted by Erick Batista, who happened to be an Si / Type R specialist salesperson. I asked him if I can speak to Nico (the sales manager, who I knew from the past). Nico arrived, had me take a seat and asked what I was interested in. I told him, the 2018 Type R. He mentioned that they have a 2018 PMM Type R and would like to show me. I told him absolutely and we headed to their "secret" warehouse, where it was stored away.
I took a look at the car and fell in love. I told him let's go back and talk numbers. I sat down with Nico and Erick and told them that my offer was MSRP for the car. They accepted my offer and we started paperwork. It was unreal. There was no wait list, no bs, no additional accessories that had to be purchased. It wasn't washed, most wrappers were still on it, and the front plate wasn't drilled. It was exactly what my ocd self was looking for! After signing the papers for delivery on Monday, November 20th. Erick asked if I wanted to see the car again and take some pictures. We headed back into the warehouse and I took the following pics.

Delivery Day - Monday, November 20th, 2017
------------------------------------------------------
My friend arrived and picked me up in his 2017 Civic Si and we headed to the dealership.

Along with the car not being washed, driven or having the front plate. I requested Erick that I will put on the temporary registration and rear license plate. He accepted my request and proceeded to let me take care of the tasks.

First drive out the dealer. The process took less than 30 minutes.

At this point, I couldn't believe what just happened. I was driving a 2018 Type R that I purchased for sticker in NY all in a matter of a few days.
The car was driven home and wasn't driven for the next 2 days.

-----------------------------------------
I began prepping the car by removing the plastics and doing a full pre foam + wash along with sealing the car.

After the wash, I realized the orange blocks on the springs weren't removed so, I began to do so (check your car and make sure this is removed, it's been placed from the factory so your car doesn't scrape when it comes off the transport truck).

First drive after the detail, gas station pictures because it was super dark.

If you made it this far, thank you for taking your time to read through my story.
Here are some tips that I have for people in search of this car:
1) I hate to say this but, money talks.
If you are seriously looking to purchase this car, walk in with a check or a pre-approval letter if you're financing. When the dealer sees that you are serious and they can make the sale ASAP, they will make some sacrifices. Buying at the end of the month helps a lot as well.
2) Do your research.
Know what the car has, don't give into paying for anything additional. Buy accessories later so you don't get raped. I see some people saying that they paid no mark up on the car but, ended up paying $3000 for $500 worth of accessories. In reality, you just paid a mark up in a different way.
3) Do not give up.
Keep looking, make phone calls.
4) Mark-up
This is the most discussed topic about this car. If you have the cash and are willing to pay a mark up, go for it. A car can be priceless to someone, if you are happy that's all that matters. For me, I refused to pay a mark up for this car because anything above sticker wasn't worth it to me.
5) Made a deal and put a deposit? Make sure you get it on paper if you're coming back to pick up the car.
That's all I got and I hope we can learn from each other and expand this community in a positive way.
