Just got back from the dealership a couple hours ago! Got myself into an SI Coupe! This is my first car that I own solely by myself as this is my first car after my high school car. I'm pretty stoked! Little nervous as I am still learning how to drive a manual transmission, but that will not deter me! The salesman actually sorta showed me how to drive it today when I was there. It was.....rough, to say the least, but I appreciated the willingness to help!

Also, I think I might have bought this car from under someone, so I kinda feel bad about that. But the other salesman didn't mark it as sold and the other guy had left and just called in to take the deal when I was signing paperwork. So, there's that.

I've already got ideas about what I wanna do to make it really MY car:
- Black 19" wheels (for summer tires, use OEM for winter)
- Plasti-Dip the rear badges to be black
- Have considered getting the spoiler painted black (I like have black accents on white cars)
- Might tune it at some point, but this will already be more car than I'm used to (coming from an '08 Pontiac Vibe)
- Also considering a resonator delete, as that's the thing I've thought sounds best so far. But I also wanna wait and see what aftermarket options pop up.
- Need to get some all-weather floor mats, cause winter sucks.

All in all, I can't wait to go pick it up from the dealer on Monday night (old car is in dad's name, so I need the title and his John Hancock)!

I'll do my best. But it might be tough to begin with haha

You bought the perfect car congratulations. The clutch is easy and hard to stall so for a beginner it isn't bad. Once you get the hang of it you should be at the end of the break in period then you can have some real run. Enjoy and don't beat her too hard.

She’s designed for the right kind of abuse. Learn how to drive it properly. Nothing wrong with WOT from time to time, but dumping the clutch just to roast the tires is just plain mean. Plus with the LSD, you are just destroying the clutch by doing that. For example:

Welcome Jordan,

Congratulations on your "first" car. I'm envious that you got such a great car for your first. And Greencobra is right. The Si is an easy car to drive, and a great one to learn on.

We're looking forward to your insights on your new toy when you get it.

Congrats to the OP!

Not to come off too salty, but there was a time when the White Si was a rare beautiful creature on the road. I thought I was king shit till I encountered 3 in my surrounding city. Seems like Agean Blue and Silver are the colors now a days.

Congrats! Yes I agree about the white; I would have picked the white were one available but my dealer only had the blue and red on the lot. There was one silver tucked away in the back, but the blue won me over.

The piano key contrast is stunning, but just not as unique anymore. However in comparison I'm not sure how the Electric green guys do it...

Congrats.

- Might tune it at some point, but this will already be more car than I'm used to (coming from an '08 Pontiac Vibe)
Heh, this was "more car than I'm used to" as well, and I'm coming from the already great-handling '04 Acura TSX, which still has one of the very best shifters in its class.

So, after a Pontiac Vibe... man, you'll feel like you're driving a Ferrari. :)

Just don't forget about the break-in period, as much as you're gonna want to push it hard from day one... be patient and be particularly nice to it for the first 600 miles. (Actually the aforementioned difference might make being patient with it a bit easier...)

Enjoy!

Yea, having to learn the transmission will help with that a lot. I'll keep under 4000 RPMs, though. And no drives of continuous road of longer than 30 minutes.
