It’s a 34k car don’t matter if it’s a lease or finance ,. Ur not paying 380 a month lol no way,. In order to get a car note for 380 u have to be looking at a 23k car ,. Like a 2017 si now that makes sense lol
Not accurate. Leasing is based on residual money factor and cap cost. I have a 30k leased car for 380. A less expensive car with no subvented program and a horrible residual could yield a large lease payment

i guess you missed the post of the honda employee who just posted but now is deleted from this thread.

Its close to 572 a month with 5-6k down.
That's close to what I'm paying a month to buy with $2500 down.

Hello everyone,

A friends friend that has a type R said he leased his. A lot of dealers here in NY are staying away from leasing and said they only wanna finance at the moment. He won't say where he got it from so to me it's hard to believe. Did any of you lease your R ? Supposedly he's leasing it for 380.00 a month with 1200.00 down ..

Tell your boy I said in my Tony Montana voice “ no fucking way man “ no way ! Lol that’s just wild ,.

Per Edmunds' leasing forum for the 2018 Civics, Type R's current residual for 3/15K is 63% and money factor is 0.0020 (in MA but probably the same elsewhere). Use an app to figure out what your monthly payments would be.

Don't have any info on leasing but had to say how dumb it is that the guy won't tell you who the dealer is. What's the big deal about telling you? It's not like he loses anything by doing so.

Well, let me do some rough math. $35k MSRP and say 70% (no idea of actual value) residual = $24,500 = $292 per month just for RAW Depreciation (no dealer fees, taxes or markup). Remember, though, that for each $1,000 added to the cost of the car, your monthly fee goes up by $27.78 ($1000/36 months). So, if they add $10k in ADM, then you're at $570 per month and that's not including Tax or other Dealer/Government Fees, etc.

If the deal was legitimate (and not like an Si which is "like" an Type R LOL), then the person would be a fool not to purchase it at lease end or sell it to a 3rd party.

If the residual and money factor posted before are accurate, with a 1200 cap cost I think you could be below 400/mo. In ny I believe toy pay sales tax on the payment, not the whole vehicle

For illustration purposes, let's assume: (i) an MSRP purchase price (hey, could happen), (ii) 36/12K residual of 65%, (iii) money factor of 0.002, (iv) capitalize the acquisition fee, and (v) pay at delivery only the first month, doc fee, sales tax on the first month's payment, then the monthly payment would be $473 (+ sales tax). The payment seems higher than you might expect because you are not getting a discount off the MSRP and the money factor (interest rate) is not that good. German car leases in the comparable range are typically cheaper because of a large discount off the MSRP, a lower money factor and manufacturer's overinflated residual.
