Adm is just an uncomfortable fact of life.

$1k is pretty reasonable. I think I would have junped on that too if I wanted a ctr bad.

Ive also paid Adm too when buying my 12 mustang boss. It was either buy at msrp from a state 2000 miles away or pay $1,800 adm (talked them down from $5k). Its not ideal but tolerable enough. Glad i did this too, as I hated the look of the 13 mustangs.

I'd love for them to intro a Prelude. It's time that name came back.

Just make it a Honda Prelude this time. :) Don't stick it under the RSX banner.
Let's just take a minute to appreciate this comment for a moment ...

RSX = Integra
Integra = Civic

RSX = Civic

Truth

Also

Prelude = Accord
Accord = TSX

If there had been a Prelude since 01 it would've been a TSX coupe

There shouldn't be ADM on any car, I don't care what it is.

It depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot.
An ADM is just a way for the dealer to rip people off for no reason but there own greed, it's sad that people fall for it and lead them on to continue doing it

I was at my dealer this weekend discussing the Type-R I am in line for. I have done business with this place for about 12 years now so they know there is no way I am paying an ADM...for them to even suggest it would be absolutely ridiculous because that just isn't how they operate. The sales manager is a friend of mine also, and he said that their Honda rep(s) are aware of ADM going on and strongly suggested that MSRP should be charged. Obviously, you can see that isn't the case with most places, but I am very happy I have these guys in my corner.

Honda of North America should punish these dealers by not ever letting them sell a CTR or performance vehicle again.
Again that will run foul of Franchise laws and Honda will face a big lawsuit for sure. The resulting Legal fees will bump up MSRP for all cars. That's why is is "mSrp" and not "mrp". Believe me I don't like this pricing power that dealers have, Only way manufacturer can enforce will be like Tesla go directly to consumer.

BTW Interesting article on how FCA is trying a novel approach to ensure dealers presell the car before they can order the new 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon.

http://www.motorauthority.com/news/...demons-above-msrp-but-is-taking-some-measures

What this does is dealers wont have a time window to get into an auction mode. They need to have a buyer before placing the order. But CTR is not a milted edition like the Challenger demon, so that approach is not scalable.

Article from FTC

https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/com...ws/dealings-supply-chain/manufacturer-imposed

Interesting read on Vertical price range both min and max.

Cheers.

Dodge and Ford both run incentive programs that reward their dealers for getting their specialty cars off the lots and into the hands of enthusiasts. Dodge specifically rewards those dealers who have both strong overall sales and minimal "time on lot" with their halo models. 2nd and 3rd allocation Hellcats, for example, were prioritized to dealers who had already sold their first batch.

Honda may eventually follow suit.

If you ask me, removing the bells and whistles would make it MORE of a Type-R as it would remove the luxury snoodyness from the car and make it more similar to a track car.
Unless of course they consider some performance and suspension parts to be bells and whistles... Don't remove those...

Yeah it is and don't get me wrong I LOVE the wing I wish my sport hb had it but $3,000 for a wing is the biggest joke i've ever been told by a dealer
Honda is no dummy - if the CTR wing was affordable, all the ricers with Hatchbacks would buy it and make their own diy CTR. lol

all the ricers with hatcbacks wouldn't buy a real wing anyways even if it affordable. They will just buy a replica.
The highest form of flattery is imitation.

They can't afford the real thing so they try to emulate it. It sucks but let people do what they will.

Agree with first sentence's statement, the second not so much.
We all make choices - Do I need/want the hyper performance of the CTR or do I need/want a 5 passenger hatch that gets good/great mileage, is fun to drive, and is obtainable without spending $10 G extra and "gifting" someone $4-10+ G ADM? AND waiting and waiting and waiting.

With adm, some responsibility must also fall on the manufacturer.

If supply meets demand, dealers are not going to have any incentive to do any adm. if there is a tad too much supply, then some dealers will make offers below msrp.

We can only hope for a hatch option with the accord motor at a lower price point and stick or full auto option.
