Hello everyone, I just finished installing my new wheels.

Same wheels as in other thread, but with +47 offset and different tires.
http://www.civicx.com/threads/new-wheel-setup-project-19.13329/

The set up is OZ Hyper GT HLT 19x8.5 +47 offset with 245/35ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ All season tire. Ordered from TireRack, $2700 total, wheels came mounted and balanced, well packaged and protected for shipping. Fit was good, I hoped for more clearance on brembos, but I think those 3 or so mm is enough. Wheels are roughly 5lb lighter according to my bathroom scale.

I have honda wheel locks that came with stock wheels (as an additional accessory that I paid extra), but they are spherical/ball seating for stock wheels and OZ require 60deg Conical/tapered seating. I have an access to a lathe and was thinking of modifying honda wheel locks to fit OZ wheels, will post updates sometimes next week.

After I mounted the wheels and checked tire pressure (35psi) I started TPMS calibration through the menu and went for a quick ride on couple of curvy roads and some highway.

My initial impression is the tires felt a little harder, which they are and not broken in yet. Definitely felt more softness on rough road, maybe a little softer when going left to right quickly on empty back roads probably due to more sidewall, didn't really felt any difference in steering, if there is then it's minimal, corners still pretty good and highway was a bit softer but still planted, no torque steer.

Overall I'm pretty happy that I went with 19inch wheel, I'm not planning on driving in snow, but if I have to I can, and maybe in the future will get another set in 18inch size with some blizzaks, we'll see. Here's some photos.

That break clearance is scary! Glad everything worked out. Looks great!

Any updates on these wheels? How have they held up in the months since? I'm shopping new wheels and these are on my list.

Hey, the wheels held up pretty good so far, about 3k miles on them. The finish held up, no rock chips that I can see, brembo clearance was worrying but no problem. Had some vibration couple of times after not clearing all the snow off from the wheels, once it melted was fine.

Actually hit a nasty pothole once with my rear wheel, sounded terrible, when I got home there was no scratches, dents and wasn't leaking any air. Probably will put 255/35 tire on these wheels next time just for a bit more rubber.

Overall pretty happy.

@Acurately thanks for the update. I like the look of these wheels, in some pictures they look silver and in others they look dark grey. I'm thinking of putting them on a CW. Still deciding between 19s or 18s though.

I'm really interested in these same wheels. I'm wondering how they have done over the longer span of time? Has the small space between brake and wheel been a problem? I know there is a 35 mm offset option but I'd really like the 47 mm offset version.

The wheels are great, have no complaints. The 47mm offset is ideal, I really don't feel any torque steer or anything. All the brakes look good, no problem with clearance. Finish on the wheels is still great, I wash the car every couple of weeks and put "Beadmaker" on the wheels to keep them protected.

The only problem is that about a week ago, I was driving in some roadwork area and didn't notice where the transition in pavement was, I hit that curb really hard at about 30 or 40 mph, I thought I def broke my wheels, had to pull over and inspect. Well I've been driving with this bend for about a week and so far the car doesn't feel any different, no vibrations and it doesn't seem to pull to the side, I think the wheels took it pretty good.

I have new tires ordered for the stock wheels for the winter, will also get alignment checked and the OZ's I'm going to get repaired, probably need to have them refinished also and put on some summer rubber next year. Overall I'm pretty happy with the wheels.
