Sorry- where are you guys picking up your remote wire?
The LC2i has signal sensing. When the radio is on it sends voltage to the Lc2i which turns it on. No need for a separate remote voltage wire. You can even power on the amp with the Lc2i.

No shit!!! How cool. Wish we had this like 20 years ago.

With lc2 no need to run power from the battery?
You still need battery power, but you don’t need the blue wire from the head unit to power up the amp.

I personally didn't use a LOC. I did get the RF PEQ remote to have control of the sub up front but that's it. The amp I got has a high level inputs with turn on feature. Once the amp recognizes a signal it turns itself on. No need to run a desperate remote turn on wire. Simple but effective setup.

Correct. Here is a diagram for a mono sub connected to the Lc2i.

Thank you sir this is just what I needed. I just ordered my Audiocontrol LC2i and ACR-1 remote from Ebay today :D. Waiting for it to arrive so I can start installing my Kenwood amp and Alpine subs (hopefully they still work after sitting for 10 years in a temperature controlled basement)

Another question. What gauge (size) electrical wire would be best to use to power up the LC2i? 10 or 12 or 14?

Sweet thanks ! This is my first time touching the sound system stuff haha hope everything will go smoothly!

Btw changing out the sub will it cause rattling at the sub area ?
No problem. No no rattling so far. You won't get much more bass without the addition of an amp. The stock system doesn't put out enough watts.

Depends on the amp and watts. I ran a 4ga wire. Plan to have two amps at some point.

There are charts you can use for sizing wire for circuits, there shouldn't be much guess work involved in doing this safely.

The main factors are wire length, acceptable voltage drop, and amperage the wire will carry.

Unless you're using the same set up as someone else, your circuitry requirements will most likely vary .

Anyone have any tips or tricks for running the amp power wire?
