I had a guy stop me the other day and ask if it was a Type R, and said he heard it was the only one in town

Interesting that he knew that there was only one in town
Sounds like this guy is seriously in the know.

Though people say bad thing about the type R, are the people who can't get a type R, they are just a bunch of jealous people, the people who love about cars they would say nice car to you, I was driving on a two way traffic, single lane each side and a rbz that sup up to ying yang on the other of the road, all of the sudden I saw him pop up out of his seat and by reading his lip, look like he said (ohhhly fuck TYPE R), and his eyes was wide open, from that moment it made my day, some people say this car is to flashy I said hell no, it deserves to be flashy because it so limited, cheers to who appreciated this car and anyone that don't it just too bad
Yep. A lot of it is just maturity, how a person is brought up... money cannot buy class or character.
I've had a couple STI drivers in my area roll their windows down and wave the thumbs up sign.

Just last week at gas station a guy drive Porsche 911 turbo come over walked around look at the car and chatting up with me of how much he heard about this car and this is the first time he see it in person, he also asked how did I landed with this car and told me his friend still on the waiting list, see there is a different, people that love cars and people with money and jealousy, like people say money can't buy true love

At a car meet a couple weeks back, this guy was talking mad sht about my car while I was about 10ft away. "20inch wheels sitting on rubber bands, I would never pay a premium over MSRP for this car" I'm not sure what he drove but he was hating severely. I told him maybe Honda liked the look of the car aesthetically and was still able to set a record in the Nurburgring with rubber bands and 20's. He didn't say anything afterwards.

Most people will give me a thumbs up, or compliment the car, or make whatever chit chat. This was the most bizarre reaction yet, though. I was driving through MSU campus (lots of nice .. ahem .. scenery) and I saw this pedestrian about 2 blocks up, hand above his head, middle finger way up in the air. As I drove by him, he clearly turned and faced my car the entire time I was within view. I laughed it off but damn, jealous or something?!

Few things. Lined up for touchless car wash. Guy gets down form the car in front and asks to take pictures. Says interested in BRZ but considering it. I let him sit in the car and feel the comfy seats. Driving along minding my own business, GTI slows down and takes pictures and wants to race. Road was bad. So I said good luck guy and he zooms off. Stopped at signal. Person in the cross walk stops right in the middle of the road and looks at it for 10+ seconds and gives a big thumbs up. Weird but interesting.

On the day that I picked up my car I was driving on the freeway and was trying to get into the centre lane but before doing so I see an Acura barreling up the lane and suddenly slows right down to let me in. I'm staring at the guy in my rearview mirror trying to figure out why he slowed down. Turns out he saw my car, clearly knew what it was and up popped his phone camera. He clearly snapped a bunch of pics and he opts to pass me after driving behind me for few kms. As he drives past me he gives me an "air high five". That was unexpected and it certainly was nice to experience that in the first 10 minutes of car ownership :)

Then just last week I was buying my first tank of gasoline and some random lady pops around the pump and says your car is gorgeous. She was telling me how she liked the red pin striping on the rims and how it just adds to the look of the car especially when it is all black. Lady must've been in her 40's but nonetheless she must've clearly had good taste in cars :)

I get the usual car lovers at work when I parked my car outside of my office window and nearly ever male walking past it (young and old) couldn't help but give it a good stare down with plenty of pics on their phone.

Way too cool. Good attention I guess but I also don't like the fact that it almost gets "too much" at times. I drive to the mall and get all paranoid that someone will jack my car, jack my rims or ding my paint so alas it doesn't see much road time at all.

I had a brand new subie sti come flying up on my ass out of nowhere tailgating me and flashing his high beams on a wide open stretch. He then pulled up along side me for a quick pull rolling at 55 going up hill.. after gapping him a bit we slowed down and I then rolled down my passenger window to give them the thumbs up. They rolled down their window and I realized it was one of my buddys. He then realized it was my wife driving and not me. Our friendship hasn’t been the same ever since. :D

After driving it off the lot I stopped in a parking lot down the street where there was a shadow so I could get a look at the car in a different light and note anything more that would need attention before putting Ceramic Pro on the next morning. Within minutes someone came out of the nearest building and asked to take a few pictures. Naturally I said yes and asked, "you could see it was a Type R from all the way in there?" and he said, "Yeah, with that wing? Of course!" I only had the car in my possession for a few minutes and someone dropped what they were doing at their work to come out and look at it!

I am not worried about it getting too much attention. I had two cars totaled in rear-end collisions within a year of each other, silver and black. Now I have a car that's red like a stop sign so I hope people notice it and get the message, lol.

I love driving such a divisive car. There's lots of love and lots of hate for the car, coming from all directions.

But by the end of the day, I bought my car for myself, not to appease random strangers. If someone hates my car that much, I'm glad I could ruin their day, hahaha.

I understand if the looks just don't cut it for someone. But often times, it's the price of admission that ends up being the reason why they hate the car. And so be it. This is probably one of only a few cars where Honda did all the aero work for us. You literally don't have to add anything to the exterior. That seems to anger people also. They prefer to buy a completely stock STi and then go add thousands of dollars of aero bits to it themselves :p

As the old saying goes- haters gonna hate. But for every hater, there seems to be at least one lover. And for me, that's all good :)

People give me a thumbs up when they're walking past me. Happens often downtown. Seems OK.

Also had the first actual *woman* compliment my car the other day. I was waiting at a light and from the sidewalk, she literally screamed out "I love your car!" and gave me a thumbs up.

Some of these might be ironic, but I think I have a pretty good BS meter. These mostly seem genuine - any hate I get is pretty openly hate.
