Think I'ma pull the trigger on the Sony unit this weekend. The stock unit is pissing me off and the runs back and forth to Cali could have used maps on the screen instead of the phone.
Yesss please post pics! I want to wait until there’s a better bracket for it. I hate that it’s not flush.

Did the USB plugs on these head units just plug into the existing USB port or did you have to work them around it? I'm kind of confused how that works as the kits on Crutchfield say no USB even when the head unit has a USB plug on the back.

There's an adapter you can buy on eBay that plugs into your OEM Harness then into the back of your aftermarket radio to keep your USB working just like factory

Thanks. I'm probably going to have someone put this all in and I'll mention that to them.
If they're going to over charge you don't waste your time, I installed mine and many others over the years I could possibly help you out!

Just noticed the silver trim around the emergency signal and down the side bezels of the radio. Is that factory? I want it!

Are your steering wheel controls functioning correctly? Did you buy a steering wheel control adapter?

Would need to get a AWSC-1 to get some of the steering wheel controls to work. Not all will function.

Yep, 1TB of music on a drive stored there. Gotta do SSD though else it can skip and take long to load. Keep in mind a good portion of my music is FLAC file format which takes up more space than mp3. I do have over 300 albums in there though. I listen to a LOT of music Lmao. I have Pandora and Spotify too though so there's always something to listen to.
I'm new to SSDs but understand them alright I think And am shopping for one now for my 18 Hatchback 7" HU to hold my music library.
Can you help a brother out with recommendations for one ? - 256 or 512 probably big enough unless there's a killer deal for a 1tb.
Does our HU accept a drive that big whether it be usb flash or ssd?
Will I need to format the drive for our Civic's system? And in that case what format?
Are Flac audio files supported by our HU or only mp3's or others?

Pardon the 20 q's and I'm sure I'll have more to come but this is a great start thank you. Jeez tho, I'm still surprised there isn't a 3.5mm in this system. It'd be too nice and easy for when a passenger wants to DJ.

Thanks for your help. My Black Hatch is built and in Swindon, Eng but not yet on route to Canada or so I'm told now..hurry up Swindon and let her sail already

I tried a number of SSD devices, but the Honda would either not recognize them or it would scan the drive each time that took 40-60 seconds to complete, if it didn't just hang, before music played. Further, I found the USB input to only handle MP3 files. Too frustrating!

I agree that if Honda had simply added a 3.5mm audio plug, one could use essentially any playback device.

I finally ended up bypassing the entire system for my 128GB iPod that goes to a DAC, then a DSP, then amplifiers to upgraded speakers and a sub.

For the stock system, I run it through an LC8i 8-channel line output converter that sends an RCA signal to the DSP. It's easy to switch between the two systems.

I now have an excellent system, but it took a lot of $$$ and time. And to think I sprang for the Touring edition to get the "upgraded" stereo. What a joke!

Good luck with your upgrade efforts.
