There are slits over the passenger side air bag location so that it does not obstruct any possible deployment. I have had this same brand of dash mats on previous cars in the past, and I have been hit head on by two drunk drivers in separate incidents and these mats were not an issue when my accidents took place. Air bags worked as intended and dash mats in both previous cars were still intact. How would that effect deployment of the passenger side air bag?

This one is actually a Velour fabric. Not my liking... feel like I fell asleep and woke up in 1972.
How does this help with the heat issue exactly? This one is actually a Velour fabric.
To each there own, but down here in Texas when temps can reach 105 for a few consecutive days and the heat build up with windows closed in direct sun light can reach 130 degrees sitting in a parking lot. So a mat down here can be an investment to give extra protection from the Texas heat and slow your dash from damage.
It prevents the heat from penetrating deep into the dashboard and heating up the A/C ducts, so when you get in and turn on the A/C it cools down faster. Also stops the UV from destroying your dashboard. How does this help with the heat issue exactly?
I have moved to a Sun Shield insulated panel custom cut to the exact shape of my windshield, it rolls up and I put it in the back seat while driving, I have found it works better. Since all my other windows are tinted, the sun shield covers the entire windshield eliminating almost all sun heat from the front, held in place by the visors in the down position. Very effective. it is silver one the outside and white on the back and has a velcro tie band that keeps it rolled up when not in use. The edge is a sewn finished black edge. I take in the house and clean it with glass cleaner about once a month. They last for years. I think I've had one for the last six or eight cars and since they are custom cut for that car's windshield shape I always leave it with the car, kinda like a floor mat. Hope that helps. If you want the exact maker of the one I have which my dealer sells just let me know. Maybe Arrowhead would sell you and and ship UPS??? Mine is the best fit one I have ever had, no skimping on size.
