I maintain that it's not a safety feature - if it was, it would interrupt music and telephone calls too :/
If current driving distraction guidelines were retroactively applied today it would.

It cancels the built in voice commands as well.

It also won't let you initiate Siri or the cars voice commands while the back up camera or lane watch are on.
Even makes a little "nope not doing that right now" beep if you try.

Super annoying but definetly intentional rather than a bug.

At first I thought this was a trivial complaint, but the other day I was very annoyed by Siri cutting off when I was making a lane change and I was late for an appointment I couldn't find the address for. Turning while talking/listening is not unsafe. Good thing I like the way the car drives so much, that I don't care as much about all this technology as most of you (it seems.)

Navigating around the infotainment system is 100x more distracting than talking to Siri. smh

I have resorted to turning off the lane watch feature, since it has interrupted me one too many times. I have my side mirrors appropriately adjusted and use them regularly.
So with lanewatch off is siri still suspended or interrupted when you turn your right signal on?

Playing around with the system today there were a few times I asked Siri to do something like play a song or get directions and then I had to signal a turn moments after my request. She would then cut out mid response or seemingly abort the task as soon as I signalled, which results in having to ask again...

I was thinking maybe this is a limitation of the single screen because it has to change video inputs essentially, so perhaps switching to the camera views causes a disconnection between the tablet OS and/or carplay connection... (be curious to find out if the same happens on Accord where the top non-touch screen is used for the camera views)

So I answered my own question today when I was in the car, disabled lane watch from automatically coming on with the right signal and Siri/CarPlay no longer gets interrupted when signaling right. Think I'll leave it this way and just turn the camera view on when I want it - its been more useful to manually engage when parking along a curb than it has been for changing lanes anyway...

At this point, I mainly just get very annoyed with myself when I commit to dictating a text message before I'm about to make a right turn. I always make that specific right turn everyday, yet I keep initiating a text message beforehand lmao >_>

I don't understand the concept of it being a safety feature, I can look at the camera and speak at the same time.

I dont think it really is, that might just be speculation or Honda corporate speak.

Its really just a limitation of the single screen cutting out for the camera view and it seems to affect carplay/siri upon switching feeds or disconnecting.

Just like how you cannot lock the car if the proximity fob is left inside "as a precation so you dont get locked out of the vehicle". Thats just secret code for "you dumbass. the proximity key technology wont let the car be totally locked because anybody can stick their hand in the handle to open it when the key fob is in range, and this is by design or the proximity feature wouldnt be possible"
