How does the Pioneer 4200nex work with the Metra dash kit? Does the screen hit the dash kit when it's flipping out to reveal the CD slot? Thanks!
It rubs ever so slightly on mine, but it still opens just fine. I would look into some strategic sanding to make it a little smoother, but I've found I very rarely open it.

The screen clears the dash kit no problem. You can tighten the screws to the radio at just the right way to clear the kit. Or as mentioned you can sand it a little if need be.

Damnit now I want the Sony unit as my stock Sport unit doesn't seem to want to let the music on my galaxy play 90% of the time unless I go into the phone and hit play first. Aaaaaahhhhh! Plus the nav option through Android Auto.

Yeah if my pioneer craps out that Sony is hard to beat. I saw it on amazon for $350. I like the look of the Sony and how it's "OEM-like". Plus it has a volume knob which is awesome. Screen is a hair smaller though.

Granted...would be easier for me to swap to another pioneer since I'd imagine the wire harness hasn't changed.

What galaxy are you using and what app? I'm using my LG V20 and it worked flawlessly on the stock headunit with VLC player and Pandora.

I use Android Music player on an older S5. Works fine but almost every time I start the car it makes me go into the app and press play before it will start working through the stock unit. I should also mention I am using it through bluetooth.

Finally saw one of those SONY head units at my local Best Buy. Only had time to mess around with it for a minute. Going to stop by tonight if I remember to and see how android auto works on it.

Yesss please do! I know the one complaint I've heard is that the start up pop-up about being distracted doesn't go away on its own but that's pretty much it.

Apparently you have to plug your phone into it with the USB cable but there was no opening on the front of the unit. It wouldn't work through the bluetooth.

Well they make adapters for the Stock USB in the center console to work on the back of the headunit. Thats how my Pioneer is connected. I can use a flash drive or whatever on the factory USB port to my pioneer.

So you couldn't test the android auto over bluetooth and there was no front USB access....bummer.

Well so far there's only one aftermarket but that works over Bluetooth. It's some Alpine that literally JUST came out. It's like $1000 or something. So they're all going to be USB. You should be able to make it where it uses the stock one like shinjari said.

I think what he's saying is he couldn't test Android Auto at best buy with the Sony they have on display since there is no USB access.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It required a USB plug in to try Android Auto out on the display model but I didn't see a USB port. Apparently it's in the back for plugging into your factory or putting one in your car if you don't have one.

Ohh okay haha. Yeah it's too bad they didn't have a cable for you to try out since that's the whole point of buying the unit in the first place.
