@CSIG10001 if you really need a car at the moment, then go for it. If not, waiting a while would be worth it... that's why you're on this forum. For the CTR!! :nixon:
From my research this past week, assuming nothing has changed, there is a Wisconsin dealership who has an allocation due in November that they're offering at $3,000 over (with no negotiation - that quote was e-mailed to me). As of Thursday, it was available to the first individual to put $1k down on it. Not sure what color it is though.

A used X1 is a good buy - that previous gen doesn't hold its value as well as some other BMWs, and with the 35i model is definitely quick. It also has an "older" BMW feel based on the platform it's based on, which I think is a plus - tighter steering, solid feel, etc.
i like everything the car has, m sport wheels, steering wheel , suspension the works..
I think 1/4 is around 13.5 with dinan and 0-60 about 5.3 ,
i am still thinking the type R is faster

i dont like the fact android dosnt work in this car. Right now i am trying to get the car for 25k out the door , its 26700k +tax
if bmw dealer bites i am going for it. The m sport wheel is sick and the added room is a plus
I think with dinan 1k bucks gets me to 287HP to the wheels and 327 TQ for AWD

i dont think the type R could keep up at a stop light

BMW M-sport steering wheels are indeed awesome. With the current X1 going to the FWD platform and not available with the 6 cylinder, that one you're considering is a nice gem.

How does not having a manual strike you though?
i will miss it

however having paddle shifters will work just as good for me, after i get used to it

i like the type r , honda makes the best manuals for sure. I am starting to feel due to the weather conditions in colorado awd would work best for me , plus i like luxury and tech. dont get me wrong i still like honda android auto system and i still have my deposit in and not backing out yet. I would have bought the red type r which is probably sold by now but i just thought the red color would have been a cop magnet+ too much red for me going on

When i test drove the x1 28i it was quick the x35i should be even better. also shifts will improve with dinan simple upgrade.
I will hear back monday if the dealer will take my offer. If not i will stick with the type R for the next car. I just like the fact BMW has a button you can push to move the mirrors into the car, its cool. Parking sensors on the reverse camera, lots of room, red leather with the bmw blue is sick IMO, m sport add ons, xenon lights, rain sensor wipers. 18"rims higher profile tires, not sure if the type r will hold up to pot holes here in colorado , the roads can suck at times.

I do like the CTR steering wheel but i have a feeling i wont miss it with the Msport BMW wheel and if i can get this car, for 25k out the door , this will be a way better deal than buying a new civic SI which i hate , just due to the fact the engine is pretty weak and so is the flywheel /turbo

225/40s 18"
might fare better than the type R 235/30s 20" when hitting a pot hole

I had a LeMans Blue with the chestnut (darker shade of red) interior - E90 M-sport 335i xdrive (manual). Loved that car. It was a color combo I wouldn't have thought of ordering, but since I bought it used, I got what I got, and now I think it's one of the best color combos (and relatively rare). So...that X1 you're considering is sort of a special one. Being the entry-level BMW at the time, it seems rare to find one optioned up like that. Is it local here in CO?

No the car is about 10 hours away , if i can get it at the price i want it for , i will be jumping on it and just waiting until 2020 until a type r variant comes out that is cheaper or even waiting for the new STI. I would agree it is rare with all the options fully loaded with msport and tech. I think it would be a fun car to drive after i reflash it with dinan and maybe a downpipe mod should bring me to 300HP and 400tq AWD. I am sure the type R is way faster at a track ,however where on the street would i need that type of handling.....
If the deal doesnt work out for me i am still 3rd on a list at msrp for the R. I just want black or grey, unfortunately the second wave the black CTR were all priced up 45-50k

For that kind of money i would just lease a 240I and reflash it with Dinan or even find a 235i for 33-35k out the door with less than 25k miles.
