No. Not in your circumstances because in the next six months you will be able to get one for MSRP in the color you prefer. I hate black but I own a black Golf R only because it was one of the last 2016 R's being delivered out west and I could get it below MSRP and 0% financing. I knew I could never get that deal the next month on a 2017 so I took it and don't regret it. For you though MSRP isn't a great deal it's just MSRP.
0% on a golf R? wow for how many months?

Go see the vehicle in person. If you like the color in person (even if its not your choice of color) then buy it... If you don't like it, just wait until you come across your favorite one ;). I paid ADM on mine since it was my only color of choice. I have No regret's or whatsoever :)

Absolutely NOT. A color you dislike will eat away at your soul, probably your ability to become erect as well.

My first choice was white, but as I flipped through many pictures of all the colors I sort of realized I didn't like the white any more than the red, and black was sick as hell too. Those were the 3 I became indifferent about. No way I personally could ever do the silver or blue (no offense to you guys) even though I found those for less and tried to convince myself to do it, can't tell you how happy I am that I DIDN'T SETTLE!!!

Why on earth would someone buy a car in a colour they dislike? If a $20+ thousand purchase has to grow on you, then I'd say forget it. And that dislike, instead of growing on you, may well turn into hate. Unless I absolutely needed a car, I'd wait. And if I absolutely needed one, why not shop around a bit?

I agree with the guys that said to go see it in person (if possible, since it is an out of state purchase.) I REALLY wanted CW, but convinced myself that I would consider anything except for black. However, it's not that I hate black, just don't like the effort it takes to keep it looking new & 2 out of my last 3 Honda's were black.

Of course, as Murphy would have it, my dealership got black. I decided to go see it as the prospect of giving up my #1 spot & waiting for the POSSIBILITY that their next CTR would be CW, wasn't a great alternative (I also had a promise of MSRP in writing & all the horror stories of ADM were not helping.)

Needless to say, when I saw the black in person I totally fell in love.

I agree that you should not buy a color that you hate as regret is sure to follow, but I would suggest seeing it in person before making a final decision.

I am in the same boat as everyone else and your best option is to go see it in person. My only color option was cw i told myself I would not get any color but cw and that black was not even a option I told myself absolutely no black no matter what but after going and seeing the black in person fell in love with the black. So best option is to see in person then make your decision.

I was dead set on CW only until I saw it in person. I was able to see a PMM and a CBP in person before I made my purchase. I loved the PMM hands down, but the CBP did it for me! It mutes the fake vents and stays with the black and red color scheme.

You've gotta try to see some in person before you decide to pass up the offer. OR MAYBE paying MSRP now will save you $$$ to wrap or paint the car if you intended on doing so.

There will be more CTRs in the future for sure though! I got an ad from Honda in the mail and the advertisement for the CTR was nothing different than the Civics right next to it.

Don't settle!

I wanted any color but red, then I got the phone call and looked it over in person. MSRP, I bought the damn thing. I don't regret it because it looked 100x better in person and if you don't like the color you can wrap it. Personally it came down to me not wanting to wait any longer also. I knew of a black MSRP currently on its way over but earliest delivery would be September.

Nope. I'm still trying to get rid of my MSRP PMM due next week or so for another color. I actually want blue now LOL (I cried over a black for the longest time). Ive even gone as far as to talk to some blue owners to see if they would swap with me (i'll take a used one even!) Black is still there for me tho... we will see. We WILL SEE.

A neighbor of mine is the GM at the second-closest Honda dealer to me. This is the dealer that gained national worldwide attention for "holding a buyer's Type R hostage" several weeks ago. They have a second black CTR in transit that I could pick up for a very fair price (neighbor, repeat buyer, and their tail is still tucked between their legs from last month). I just don't want black. (Interestingly, this dealer requests/receives lots of black Hondas - more than any other dealer I've seen other than a Ford Model T dealer.)

Bad experience or is that based on second-hand information from others? I'll keep going back as long as I keep getting good deals. If those dry up, so will my business with them. I'm not married to any one dealer, though - I go where the gettin' is good. :)
