Like I said you've shattered the type of pricing we've seen in Canada. Getting a car that lists at $26,990 for about $22,500 will have everyone rethinking their buying plans. If a 2016 Touring can be had for $22,500 what is an LX or EX worth.

I need your help. I have been getting some quotes from dealers, like Touring model for 25,200 before tax and licenses. I spoke with one dealer today and he said dealers may quote me a price but when I go there they have all these extras that they say come with the car.... Something called pro packs. I called another dealer and he said all their cars come with at least $350 extra in pro packs, which would be added on to the price they quoted me. Are pro packs something on all Hondas? And is it true the price is a lot higher than they quoted because of all these hidden extras? Thanks for your help..

I don't know what to tell you man. Should I have argued to have them increase the price to go with the "going rate" ? Haha! It's none of my business if others paid more. I'm just telling you what I paid for mine. And I'm sure not calling them back to have them add a few thousand bucks to satisfy the crowd. ;-)

And when you say lists, which price are you referring to?

Dealer Invoice for the Touring in Canada is $25,236. There are NO holdbacks in Canada for manufactures unless it's a fleet sale.

Mandatory fees include:
$1,595 Freight/PDI
$100 A/C Tax
$20 Tire Tax ($4 each tires x 5 tires in car including spare)
$6.25 AMVIC (Alberta), I believe $10 OMVIC (Ontario). Not sure about other provincial licensing bodies for dealers.

Tax in your province. Ranges from 5% in AB to 13% PST in other provinces.

If KA0S is paying invoice with said fees mentioned above, if my math is correct, he's paying $30,466 OTD. $26,990 OTD with HST and 0% my ass. Post your purchase agreement.

0% what? I said zero down. There are no "mandatory" fees. I don't know where you get your info, but it's incorrect. The only mandatory fee is tire and A/C tax (items the Government collects). Any dealer can waive freight and PDI if they so wish. I didn't pay freight or PDI on my Tahoe either. Same goes for the 2007 Ram I bought brand new. Not to mention, I don't know where this $26990 number you're coming up with is from. That is FULL MSRP for a Touring. Wake up bud...I didn't even say anything about that number. Another member posted it.

Using your number for dealer invoice, which BTW, is also not correct, with HST, it comes to $28516.

You're off by about a grand for actual dealer invoice according to my dealer.
You think they're only making $1600 and change per vehicle? Come on now.....

And my exact total was $27829...I forgot I added the extended warranty which brings the total up. I paid for my plates, $145, and the enviro and AC tax by debit. That totalled $200 and some change.

Don't care if you don't believe it. It is what it is and I'm happy it's such a good deal. Guess it pays to know someone!

$687 savings from your quoted dealer invoice plus HST...Good deal for sure!

Okay, I will admit that I misread the 0 down for 0% and I mixed up the $26,990 in your deal. My bad. $25,236 is correct however for invoice. It's listed on unhaggle and carcostcanada. $1700 in margin for a car in this class isn't unheard of either. The Pilot Touring Elite has $4000 to move and the Fit has about $900 as a comparison. EX-T Civic in Canada stickers at $24,990 and invoice at $23,366. It's not surprising at all to see margins on cars especially these thin in the present day with competition and consumers with so much research available. The only kinds of vehicles I know that have thousands of dollars in markup (like up to 10k) are luxury vehicles and pickup trucks.

As for the Freight and PDI, yes it CAN be waved, although I find that hard to believe since the dealer had to pay for the transport of the car and also the tech who did the PDI. Perhaps less the $1,595 but still not low enough to waive the fee

Yes, it also does pay to know someone or if you have a connection. This would be a good point to disclose so that people on the forum know how you're getting so much leverage on the price. Are you the dealer principle's son? If so, fuckin rights you better be getting a car for below cost. I would still like to see your purchase agreement however and congrats on the car!

In case you can't figure the math out, kind of like you can't figure out who posted what, dealer COST is just over 24k for my dealer.

And I don't mean to come off rude, but you're flying off the handle and swearing in the other thread because someone got a great deal. I don't think it's really necessary. We're all on the forum because we got a sweet vehicle. Not to trash each other.

Okay, I'm going to lay some facts down on the table here. Unhaggle is generally seen as a reputable source so they're saying dealer cost is that much. So unless you can PROVE to me that dealer cost was over $24k with paperwork or your purchase agreement. I'm still not believing that.

This exact price is all over Redflagdeals as well.

Now, only you know that you got your car for x price and if you're happy that's great! :) And apologies as well for the over the top language in the other thread. Understand however, you don't have the high ground on this debate considering other Canadian members have been skeptical about your pricing in the previous pages and you've shown no proof so far considering I have.

I have a chance to buy a new 2016 Civic LX Sedan Automatic for $18,600 including destination, processing, taxes, tags, and title. Is this as amazing a deal as it sounds?
