Anyone in Ontario get a good deal for the Touring model?

I just submitted an unhaggle so I will post what I find from there. In the mean time, anyone current owners want to weigh in?

I bought very early. Paid full list but received an estimated $700 in other considerations. Also received a very fair trade-in value on my Pilot.

Keep in mind our Touring lists at Cdn$26,990 compared to the U.S.A. price of US$26,500. Converted we are paying US$19,230. Our U.S. friends would be lined up for that price. Don't think you'll get too much movement on the list. Look at deals on some throw-ins or winters and rims.

I JUST picked up my Civic Touring this week and absolutely love it (I'm also a first time Honda owner and will do a blog post shortly).
I was able to negotiate $1,000 off list bringing it down to $25,990, they offered me window tinting at cost (I paid $250) and I was able to get an extra $500 on my trade in after they told me there was absolutely no more room to negotiate the value of my trade in (they went from $4,500 up to $5,000 + HST on my trade in for my 2007 Nissan Altima).
Keep in mind this dealership (in Burlington, Ontario) had a fresh shipment of Civics overflowing in their parking lot that they were motivated to sell and I had the upper hand.

On a Civic Touring in Ontario?
That means he didn't pay the Freight @ $1,595 or Air Tax @ $100 or the $13% HST which adds another $3,730 to the price for a total savings of almost $5,400 CAD. On top of that I have never seen Honda offer 0% interest. That's hard to believe, but if he managed to pull it off then all the power to him. That would be a killer deal.

Ya that's what I said too... Defently an amazing deal. Look on the post just below this one "what did you pay" pg 33 I think. Says he's from Canada but said hey in the Ontario shout out post..

Maybe he can give us some insight?

That's horseshit unless he had the paperwork to prove it.

I offered my dealer $25,500 considering the invoice was $25,236 and told them to do it for the sake of making the sale and moving the car. Told them I wanted blue though so I won't be taking delivery until at least late March. I'm in AB though so we only pay 5% tax so I was quoted OTD at $28,582. I have a separate relationship with the parts department so I'll be getting accessories through them separately.

Keep in mind btw that the car costs $19,000 USD doesn't mean shit unless you were able to take advantage of it in the first place. (Americans are probably rushing here to buy). I still make money in CAD so my purchasing power has stayed the same relative to the cost of the car. It would cost you $26,990 now and 5 years ago hypothetically if the car was released back then and priced the same when the dollar was at par. You're just lucky Honda Canada isn't charging you $38k for a Touring...

No. I actually didn't. Someone else posted that I said that, which I didn't. Read the thread ...

I was quoted a total of $30,100 otd here in Edmonton. With lifetime engine warranty ,lifetime oil change plus the whole Pro pack. They initially offered me 33k plus taxes. Can you guys help me on what to tell the dealership to lower the price? Thanks

Is "OTD" the total price with tax minus the trade-in and down-payment and not factoring in financing? If so, I paid $33,804 OTD for my Touring in Ontario (with 13% tax) and that included window tinting, 5yr/100,000km extended warranty, protection package (inc. all-weather mats, rear splash guards and trunk tray), and red brake caliper covers w/ installation. I figure I saved over $1200 off the total list price of the car and accessories, not counting financing. Watch out for the ridiculous (and hidden) $400 "theft protection etching" fee, which was basically just a sticker on the inside edge of the doors - no thanks. The salesman was adamant that they couldn't remove the etching fee but I convinced him to replace that with the caliper covers and installation so I was happy with that. I only got $1700 for my 2006 Civic EX, which I didn't factor into the price above, but it had over 290,000 km on it, so I think the trade-in value was fair. I was originally quoted $254.25 biweekly @60mo with $5000 down and I ended up with $244.97 biweekly which is a savings of $1206, but the original quote didn't include the caliper covers or the trunk tray which is an additional value of over $500 so I basically saved around $1700 off the original quote if I've done my math right. It took a bit of negotiating, but I was pretty happy with the deal I got.

Youre practically paying MSRP with 'free' addons then.

$26,990
$1595 Freight/PDI
$100 AC Tax
$20 Tire Tax
$6.26 AMVIC Fee
x1.05 GST gives me $30,147.

Personally, I'd give them $500 over invoice tops so $25,736 + Fees and Taxes (So i'd start by offering $25.5k) and tell them to shove it with their pro pack, engine warranty and lifetime oil changes. Paying $25,736 with the applicable fees and taxes, your OTD price should be in the mid to high 28s which is perfectly reasonably in my opinion. The dealership is better off than me not buying the car in the first place, they get to move on car from inventory, the salesman makes his minimum commission anyway of $100-150 and we all go home for dinner.

You need to tell the sales guy that an oil change is $40 tops and you're probably at the dealer max twice a year for that anyway, so I'd rather pay the variable cost of the oil changes rather than a fixed 2 grand more up front. I'd probably only keep my car for 5 years at the most anyway so I'd spend less paying the service department.

With the propack, I tell the dealer that it was their choice to put it on their inventory by default, and whoever decided that must've thought of the fact that not EVERY customer is going to pay for that anyway. Some will, some won't, so their bottom line will still be okay if I decide not to pay for it because they must've averaged paying customers and non paying customers out. It's their prerogative, not the customers.

@Newflyer3 What's a "pro pack". Is that some sort of paint protection package?
Stuff like theft etching, vin etching, rust inhibitor, undercoating, window tint that's bundled into one package and priced well above it's value for the sake of dealer profit. If you were knowledgeable and diligent enough to get those items done yourself (if you wanted to anyway), you could be saving a few hundred.
