I keep getting error messages that appear then disappear from the video display on my 2016 Honda Civic EX Touring. Messages like Brake System Problem, Tire Pressure Low, Anti Lock Brake System Problem, CMBS Problem, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Adaptive Cruise Control Problems, I do not receive the corresponding indication on the dash board. These messages are either all on or they no longer show in the video display. I presently have a case number assigned, and awaiting call back from dealer to drop off the car for a couple days. I had to argue with the case manager for a free rental. I've had the car for two weeks. I'm waiting for the dealer to get the uSB stick for TSB 16-001.

Had this issue as well a few weeks ago. My tire pressure light eventually came on the dash too, but I checked the pressure and all tires were at 32PSI.

What I did was pull down the notification panel on the head unit (swipe down from the top of the screen), long hold on the red notification that says 4 Errors, choose "App Info", select Force Close and then Clear Data. I then rebooted the head unit (hold down power button on top left of head unit, choose reboot on screen), chose the Settings menu option, then choose TPMS calibration. Haven't seen the errors since and the Tire Pressure light went off on the dash immediately. It's been 300 miles since then.

If you don't see the Red notification that says "4 errors" (I know they come and go), press the little settings icon on the notification panel. This will bring you to the Android settings, not the car settings. Go to Applications, find TP something (sorry, can't remember the exact name but it has a blue icon), and Force Close / Clear Data on that app.

I'm a photographer for various charities and sports photographer for a Christian grammar school. I have a basketball game to shoot today. I just printed out your instructions and will attempt today or first thing tomorrow.

I'm at my Honda dealer now in Honolulu for a '16 Civic Touring i purchased and received on 1/31/15. Ive had the same issues randomly occur, namely the small yellow 'email envelope' icon at the top of the audio display, showing HondaLink issues with 1) Low tire pressure or more recently 2) EVERY safety system having 'problems' e.g. ABS Problem, Brake System Problem, TPMS Problem, ACC Problem, CMBS Problem, Charging System Problem. That last warning happened on 1/27 and all 7 warnings including Tire Pressure Low came up. The dealer has just told me in consultation with Honda Service Tech Support, that this is an issue specifically with Apple iPhones. Apparently, the iOS software has an incompatibility with HondaLink regarding "frequently changing frequencies" (whereas all other phones or systems use a static frequency) that the Honda system cannot quite handle yet. So the system essentially freaks, and gives off random warnings. This happened before a previous service and the dealer told me NOT to use HondaLink and deleted the app off my phone and supposedly disabled it in the car. However, if you use the wifi feature in the vehicle, the HondaLink system can re-enable and start giving off the false warnings again. My dealer told me that this is the last time they will clear the warnings for free, subsequent clearings of the warnings will be charged. (yes, I am having issues with that stance). The dealer told me Honda is aware of this issue, and is happening on multiple vehicles, however a fix is not forthcoming for at least a few months.

A more pressing issue for me, possibly rooted from iPhone use, is that when I attempt to connect my phone to the car, the display will crash, freeze, or both, forcing me to turn off the car and restart or if possible reboot (audio power 'button' for 5 seconds) multiple times. My system has started recently crashing so hard that it resets any customizations, such as main screen icon (Navigation, Audio, Smartphone, Info, Settings) going back to default positions after I had changed them. My rear and lanewatch cameras will also freeze and crash the system if my iphone is attached. Hopefully it's not a widespread apple carplay issue, as Ive already tried multiple handsets and also clean software installs. I've asked the dealer to wipe my software and reload it as well as install the 16-001 TSP audio amplifier fix. Will keep this updated as info comes to me.

Wow, that sounds rough. What iOS version are you on? Have you tried restoring? I am now on 9.3 beta 2 (not jailbroken) and haven't had any of the issues you're seeing, including the TPMS errors. When I did see the TPMS errors, I was on 9.0.2 and jailbroken.

im currently using a clean install of 9.2.1 on a newly replaced iPhone 6S Plus, the ONLY apple hardware that has worked with no issues for me so far has been my 5-6 year old square "watch" ipod nano. Im tempted to try the beta 9.3, since these issues seem to be inherent only in iphones.

9.3 beta brigns several updates to CarPlay, which very well may fix some of the issue that we have been experiencing.

Don't be fooled by the iOS crap. I've had these very warnings that everything on my car is malfunctioning at once, and I've never had an iPhone near my car - much less plugged into it. Heck, I've never had my android phone plugged into it either - Just been using bluetooth.

IOS beta 9.3 may have resolved my issues with the bogus error messages. I've gone 24 hours with no safety error messages. I no longer have stuttering issues playing music via Bluetooth or Pandora.

I would tell the dealer fine, two more tries to fix it and the car will be returned under the lemon law. Not only that, if Honda is still advertising these cars with Car Play that I'll notify FTC along with Consumer Reports for deceptive advertising.

I received two messages this morning, and I don't have an iPhone...So this cause given by Honda, is bogus. I got the CMBS error, and that I should have it checked by a dealer. I also got the Driver Assist System has a problem, and that I should park in a safe are and clean the windshield. My windshield is clear as it can be, so obviously bogus.

I'm going to email my service advisor for these issues. I also noticed that my rain sensing system is not working correctly. The wipers came on numerous times today, and it's sunny out and the roads are dry. I've read other members have resolved this by having the dealer either replace or fully plug in the sensor. I guess they aren't seated correctly in some vehicles.

Let us know how it goes. If they tell you that it's due to an iOS issue, tell them you know multiple owners with issues WITHOUT iPhones...
