Ok, let's get this going. I'm a big dude and worried about the Type R seats when my car arrives. I'm trying to lose weight, but that can be difficult with 2 herniated disks. My question for everyone is what are some good performance-type seats for a bigger person (40-42 inch waist)?

Let's get this out of the way, I'm in love with the Type R and sold my current car to get the one I bought, so I'm not giving it up. If anyone has any good ideas for seats, I'm listening. I've looked at Braum seats and some others at CarID.com, but if anyone has any advice, I'm listening (technically, reading).
I'm 6'2 198lb I also have a couple discs messed up. I find the seats are poor for this condition, if I sit up very straight the bolstering fits well. The second I relax both sides of my rib cage are being jabbed by the bolstering.

Maybe it breaks in, some much bigger folks liking them and fitting well, perspective is to each thier own.

I still have not found a dealer that will allow anyone to sit in the car in the show room. How do dealers plan on getting a deposit without allowing people to sit in it, I mean if someone does not fit comfortably or fit in the seat why would they buy it? If you are a bit concern on the seat, I suggest going to a Ford dealership and sitting in a Focus RS, which may help give you an idea on how comfortable you will be in the Type R when your car arrives. Maybe from there you can look for performance shops in your area that sell seats to sit in one if they allow it.
RS seat is the worst in the business.

On the topic, does anyone know if the mounting bolt hole pattern for the type r seats are the same dimensions as the regular civic hatchback?

I've emailed the people at ExtendMySeat about this and they say it's a different seat and bracket and they aren't making a bracket for us.
I'm 6'6" 230 and I can barely fit. The comfort of the seat is amazing and snug. The problem is my knees get in the way a little bit when turning the steering wheel. There isn't enough space between the wheel and my knees to get my hand through when turning.
......I've adjusted, of course lol I'll be damned if that minor issue is gonna keep me out of this incredible car. Yes, it's my daily. Yes, I can still haul ass. Yes, I can still take fast corners.
