There wont be an AWD version, nor should there be.
Not this generation but I would imagine next generation. What could they improve next generation if they stick with FWD? The AWD competition can increase power, add rear torque vectoring, etc but today's CTR is probably the most you can do with a FWD car.

I don't understand how anyone can be disappointed with this price when we knew what the car was going to be/have long ago, we knew it was going to be low 40's.. and this literally is the lowest low 40's it pretty well can be, instead of being higher low 40's. This a win in my opinion.
This is a forum where many are fine with paying ADM for this car. It represents the most hardcore Honda fanboys and is in no way representative of the general public. I recall ITR's collecting dust at Acura dealerships as the general public is not fond of paying considerable money for FWD. Also AWD is becoming more expected to the point where Honda is exploring adding it to the Civic and Accord lines. For the general public that's not married to any brand FWD is a tough sell when there are AWD offerings at the same price range. I think Honda will have no issues selling all of the first few years of this car but long term I don't think they could be successful with this model.

What the hell does that have anything to do with what i said in my quote:confused:. All i stated was that we knew the price was low 40's range and the price came out to be at the very bottom end of that particular range, and that it is a win for those that are actually buying the vehicle and were worried about the MSRP.

Guys/Gals, I wasn't trying to start a war with pricing...I'm just being honest about what I think about the pricing. Consider this: We are all keeping it apples/apples by using MSRP's in this conversation...however we know in the REAL WORLD, the competition can be had for much cheaper.

Even still, the CTR is a fantastic car and I'd be happy to own one. However, seeing that it's my money I'm spending, I'm not so sure.

Also, don't kid yourselves...on a back road, this car won't be pulling away from it's AWD competition anytime soon. The performance is so damn close, it's a drivers race, anyway. Including on a track. I'm personally waiting for C&D's lightning lap as it's a better tell of how close a car is to it's rivals.

My 0.02...

Anyway, can't wait to see and hear from the lot of you to who's getting their CTR first!

i think the reviews proved that it could over take an AWD on the backroads... but like u said it's a drivers race so it contracdicts the fact pricing is on point or bit lower with the competition.. where you are starting to lose out with the CTR is when it rains, or snows etc...
i still don't know what competition you are talking about that is cheaper then 40.8K.....
STi- $41K - spot model..
Golf R - $40.6K (not that much cheaper)
Focus RS - $48K

Even if you could HAGGLE the dealership you would still be around the same price as the CTR.. not cheaper... but ur right, at the point it's really who the buyer is.. u have 4 great cars to choose from and it's what speaks to you the most that you put your $$$ down..

you could go to the lower trims of the above cars...The WRX, the GTI, The SI, the ST .. but.. yah those are just meh..but these are definitely cheaper!

what else is there? Not trying to convince you to buy the CTR and you are entitled to your opinion, which i have no issues with, just don't like how ur misinforming people that read the threads saying there are cheaper options out there, unless i missed something..

I'm not sure if the C&D's lightning lap can tell much. They use different drivers for different cars. Also, some cars like the Focus RS has optional streetable track tires (Michelin Sport Cup 2) whereas the CTR only has max performance summer tires (Continental contisportcontact 6).

Anyway, so just one more day before official pricing is released!

The motortrend ones are better as Randy Pobst takes all the cars around the Streets of Willow track back to back. Really though all this stuff amounts to magazine bragging rights as the STI usually finishes last or close to last in most competitions and regardless will outsell the Golf R, Focus RS, and Civic Type R combined.

What in the actual F, as much as I'm happy to see this, why is it that they got delivered to the port in the EAST most part of Canada, just to have its first dealership appearance to be in the furthest WEST part of Canada. Clearly the units have been circulating and its unacceptable we don't have a confirmed release date at this point.

I for one...would really like to know Honda Canada's game plan, as far as roll out. Something tells me it is going to be a lot more organized and faster than the US was. I just have that felling
