All we need now is availability :) I'm happy I was pretty accurate on the price :) I can't get this car fast enough

Reasonably good price, smart move on Honda's part - the price had to be competitive with the Golf R base model which is discounted to the same degree here relative to the States. But still not quite the bargain the 2017 Focus RS was in Canada relative to its US price/equipment loadout.

Is the destination charge subject to HST?

Now all we need is a release date ;)

Anybody think extended warranty is worth taking on this car?

I put mine down in May, and I was trying to avoid using his name but yeah lol, I am dealing with him as well. You are the first one, it's kind of a bummer to know you're the reason I probably won't get mine this summer lol. I went in during the winter to inquire and there was no list yet so I thought I had time.

Edit: Just read your other post saying you're getting black, I'm so happy lol
I was surprised no one put a deposit when I went in. Lol sorry I hate be the reason u don't get ur car Mann if that happened . I asked for black so hopefully they get 2 at a time or something.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this price...assuming it is accurate.

I can't say I share the "cheap" sentiment...it seems to be lumped too close to some SERIOUS competition, IMHO.

Also, I believe Ryan is the only one handling type R interest at Pickering Honda. All the other sales guys were told to send clients his way from what I was told. He's the one that told me that a Honda exec told him tey would be getting around 8 this year for MY2017 and 2018. Heres hoping he's right

What are you talking about? It doesn't have AWD, heated seats and it's lesser equipped than a fully loaded Golf R or STI that have everything the CRT has with the addition of adaptive cruise control and collision detection. It also doesn't have the availability of a DSG like the Golf R. You may say you don't need those things but the fact is the CTR is less equipped than a Civic Touring and has less options available than the competition offers. At least in the US the CTR undercuts the Golf R, Focus RS, and STI by nearly $2k. In Canada it's priced the same as an STI Sport and base Golf R (which is already well equipped) which both have standard AWD so it's not nearly as good a deal relative to it's competition in Canada.

You realive this is a track focussed car that is comfortable on the road and out corners every car you listed. The money in the ctr is spent on performance not creature comforts. The vtr also is not a drag car either and the team at honda have this car corner harder and more aggressively then all the cars you mentioned. It's power band is more usable and honda chose not to do an auto gear box on purpose. From a performance perspective I choose the honda all day long the price point. I think price is bang on.

All the cars I listed are track focussed and the Golf R is very comfortable as a daily driver (also has 3-way adjustable dampers). The Type R is a very good car but so is the competition and the fact is on anything less than dry surfaces the other cars will run away from the CTR. It should be less than it's AWD competition IMO.

I agree with heavyd, this price has priced me out. I'd rather wait for the all wheel drive version. No point in spending this big money for a front wheel drive when its same price as an sti...

But at least that means more cars avail for you lol
