Tire chain recommendations?

I'm in Los Angeles, so winter tires aren't so practical for me and prefer chains for the occasional visit to Mammoth.

Does anyone have any specific recommendations on chain brands and sizing? Amazon doesn't seem to have any based on 2016 civic filter criteria.

The rubber kind they sell in Japan are actually the best to use, but they seem harder to find in the States.. Nothing special about the 2016 Civic as far as chains are concerned. It has nice, large wheel wells, so most chains sized for a 16" wheel are going to work OK.

during the check out process i was told not to use chains, but to use something else. i asked why and got a blank look.
