Check out Nitto Neo Gen tires if you are looking for a more sticky tire. Had them on my 8th gen Si and they worked really well. They are a softer compound though so you can't expect to get crazy mileage out of them.

I'll skip my background because I covered that in another thread, but for the purpose of this thread it is important for me to disclose that I've never driven an Si before or any other car in a similar category. I've also followed the Si and this forum closely since the reveal and read every review moments after they were publish - both professional and non-professional.

Yesterday, I picked up a red 2017 sedan I purchased that I had never seen nor driven. Having seen lots of pictures, the appearance of the car was almost exactly as I expected. I hadn't owned a car with a manual transmission in 22 years, so I was a little nervous when I drove the salesman to the gas station to fill it full of Valero premium gasoline. My fears were completely unfounded - it was like riding a bicycle.

...
Excellent review and nice color choice!

Looks really nice. Honda is really stepping up in the looks department. Can't wait to see what's next.

You didn't already purchase it? What do u mean "your" SI? Did you put a deposit down or something? I'm curious since I want to get an SI that hasn't been beat up with test drives, lol.
I put a deposit down, so I have the right of first refusal (within a 48 hr window) and no one will be driving it before I do. :D

38.1MPG out of my first tank. 7 more than my 9th and 8 more than my 8th. Really impressed with the mileage on an unbroken- in motor .

+1

I'll take almost any Si's 6MT and suspension over many of the mainstream 10th Gens. And I'm willing to bet these will continue to be the highlights from reviews of future members.

Any 10thgen civic with 1.5T is faster than any stock 9th gen si.. proved already by Hondata.
I think you'll learn with more seat time that there's a lot more that goes into driving engagement than HP/TQ.

We could argue this until we're blue in the face. But the market clearly shows there's demand for balanced/engaging platforms across all manufacturers.

Actually, I'm not too impressed with the MPG of the Si. Sure it makes about 20hp/tq more than my Altima, but weights 200lbs less, and has almost 1/2 the engine size (2.5 vs 1.5) I'm not really great with physics, but I expected it to be rated better. On the Highway, I regularly get in the mid 40's, and I get about 26 around the city. I'm also doing it on 87.

Maybe it's due to the Manual being less MPG focused than my CVT? Not sure. Either way for the Si MPG I feel shouldn't be the driving factor. I'd give up a few MPG for a bit more fun.
