That's because it's only for the civics with the 1.5 turbo cvt

Thanks for this. I was skeptical whether its a guaranteed fix - made me think twice about taking it in to get mine replaced. I'll just leave it as is. Dont like the idea of dealerships ripping apart transmission and risk having issue come back. Besides the TSB claims it doesnt affect the function or reliability. Oh well, only time will tell =(

Hi @NorthernEX-T , I have been experiencing the exact same issue, and have gone to multiple dealerships. The problem is with reproduction. The grinding noise never reproduces when you want it to because it's so random. And I can't be bothered to record my start up every single day. Any chance you'd be able to share be video with us? Thanks man

I don't know why you would expect the dealer to help after showing them a video of someone else's car, personally. My dealer couldn't reproduce either but acted when I sent them a video of my own car, with me narrating - so there was no doubt it was my car having the issue.

so i got the fix here yesterday in Toronto and i gotta say my car feels 100000000x times better everything is smooth as fuck im a keep testing it out and see if any issues come up

There's a reason I paid $1000 for 8 years of Honda Care. Haven't gone in to try and get it fixed but if something goes wrong in the next 7 years or so, it's their asses, not mine.

Apologies in advance domm92. Been away from this thread for awhile. Still now fix for your car eh? I haven't gone back yet to my dealer to have the service dept look at it. I'm not in any rush yet, so I still have the same noise issues.

Same thing happened to me. They couldn't replicate the noise, so for now I'm SOL.

This is why warranties exist. Get the repair done if it has problems after then we can start to discuss next steps like lodging complaints.

Well they did repair the the lower valve body for the grinding problem but it's still there. Just not as loud anymore. I'm also having an issue now where the car shakes pretty bad on restarts. But only happens occasionally. And of course all the previous issues I've had are still there. Honda has really disappointed me. I'm having a hard time finding the right car to replace this thing with.

I wouldn't rush into getting it fixed since it hasn't completely fixed the issue for me and fo several other people.

@Dretlaw the reason why no dealers can replicate it is because it needs to sit for a minimum of 30mins before it will do a good grind. Sometimes it does it after 15mins, but wait the full 30mins, 90%+ chance it will do it then.
