I love my car. The off-the-line power at lights is a real smiile-maker when, unless it's a car that's either heavily modded or costs more than my Civic, you're already several car lengths ahead of people without needing to mash the pedal.

My only question is, does the hatchback seem to have better handling? The CarAndDriver test illustrates that it's roadholding capabilities are decently ahead of the coupe (although the coupe they tested was 2016; mine is 2017, if that matters). Still, it's a blast to rocket through curves (I don't push it over the limits, so I don't really have to worry about understeer showing up).

My real gripe? Not having paddle shifters (you'd think the 2-door would be the one to have them, yet the 4-door does). Oh well. I'm fine with the CVT as-is.

I haven't read what C&D wrote, but the Sport trims of the hatchback run on 235-width summer tires, which I don't think any of the others have (apart from the Si and CTR, anyway). The tires alone would account for enough of an improvement in grip to be measurable.

Ok , someone said use my caneras to avoid blindspots. Lol shouldnt have to!

Someone else said keep it below 3k rpm for better mileage. Lol not so easy in a autotragic thats surging rpms all iver the place!

Someone else said of im having to slam my brakes to avoid hitting the car im front of me im too close anyways. Lol umm no, i generally stop a car length behind. This happens right as my car is almost at a dead stop, its like it suddenly gets the accelerator pushed but its not. Resulting in a sudden lunge fwd where all i can do is jam the brakes.

Its easy to be a know everything kind of person behind a keyboard, but until YOU have experienced this yourself YOU kinda dont know what your talking about. Honda knows. It happened to them when i took it in to show them. They admit its odd. Yet send me back out in it. Lol idc im in negotiations to give it back now and hooefully take home a sport manual. Hate the lesser options compared to the ex but this cvt trans has to go! So if it means weaker radio and ammenities so be it.

My sport hatch does corner MUCH better than my old 8th gen civic that was on 215's. I can comfortably take a corner 5-8mph faster than previously.

I 100% regret buying my touring sedan.
I agree the transmission is extreamly jerky and doesn't respond to throttle well unless being aggressive. And getting the grinding noise in the transmission repaired but 1 day later starting it and it's still there annoys me. Also the interior is horribly put together and rattles, buzzes, and clicks (including the subwoofer that Honda can't fix). The paint is horribly thin and soft. Have several rock chips on the hood and a bunch on the sides of my car which is weird to me. And very thin sheet metal. Had to fix 3 dings with the first year. I've had a couple occasions were the infotainment screen would not turn on at all even after restarting the car. So no back up camera, no lane watch, no music. I only have 5000 miles on the car in 1 year and 6 months. Low miles because I hate driving the car. And want to keep miles low for an ok trade in.

Very disappointed and don't think I got my 27,000 dollars worth of car. The service department has rude advisors also. I'm hoping to trade this thing in end of summer.

I have to say I enjoy my HB sport. The transmission jerks a little from time to time but not enough to launch me into the car in front. I have no rattles or anything. I get close to 40mpg around town and I like the way the car looks. I purchased my first Honda because I kept hearing how good and reliable they are. My other cars were mustangs and challengers. So going from 15-18 mpg to almost 40 mpg is great. So far so good. Have about 1,500 miles on the car now.

Who all if anyone here regrets purchasing their new hatchback? Or other 10th gen for that matter! I sadfully do. I cant seen to get around its blindspots. Idk if its me or the car but i have never in my life had so many close calls from switching lanes than i have in this car. Also the cvt trans is just the most jerkiest, weird shifting tranny ive ever had (yes ive owned cvt before) and i also find it unsafe as it tends to lunge forward as im almost at a stop forcing me to jam the brakes again to avoid rear ending somebody. The bluetooth dont like any phones i try. And the dash rattles are crazy annoying. And idk how but everyone seems to be getting amazing gas mileage yet im 1100 miles deep in mine and its taken 5 full tanks from empty to get there! Thats not good. Idk guys, but i really just wish i could drop this thing off at honda and say give me my 2013 honda fit sport again. Im not a happy customer and it sucks! Sucks so bad to have a month old car and hate it. Sucks.
Sorry 4u, I got my ext in Dec 2015....love it 2 this day,no regrets here. Lv the look of my car..... Should of gotten a Sedan.... Imo, also don't have any of your complaints either....sound car I have. American built not British.

My regrets started one month after purchase last April. First the whole computer system went POOF! I had to have the car towed from the front of my house to the dealer. They got it and said nothing was wrong. Started right up....BULL SHIT!
Second the the beeping started. Beeping in the morning. Beeping in the afternoon. It was like a whining kid asking when are we gonna get there . Then the touch screen started going wacko. see here. . It took 3 visits for service to get the screen replaced. I have a total of 6 visits in one year!
Next the blue tooth started dropping out. I still having issues with basics like mirrors moving.
High beams not going off. And others. I want to return this car!! Very dissatisfied with this Honda Product. Very surprised they did such a POOR engineering and Quality job on this build .

A lot of places have a lemon law where if there are more than X number of issues in a time period the car can be returned or some such thing, might want to check it out.

Well, first off, if anyone has regrets then you should be able to sell the vehicle for a value pretty close to what you paid given the high demand and low depreciation. Do some effort to sell it and find something that fits you better.

I love my 16 EX-T. Its awesome. No issues with it other than the Cig lighter/12 volt doesn't seem to work. Other than, no issues at 16k. The EX-T was the perfect choice for me. Although I really wanted the "self driving" features of Honda Sensing, I think it would've been too slow to recover speeds and such and would've been frustrating to use. Maybe I'll re-evaluate next time (I have a lease).

I got to drive a 17 Sedan LX for about 4 days while our Pilot was being dissected (crazy door issue: glad Hondacare covered it) and I'd say that I WOULD have regretted purchasing the LX once I had tasted the EX or EX-T. The features in the EX are such a no brainer for anyone who remotely values ANY of those features and while I enjoyed the contrast of the NA engine which did seem to have a little bit better off-the-line torque and louder growl, it was very nice to go back to the Turbo with its silky smooth acceleration even at higher speeds needed for passing.

I regret my purchase... I regret the Civic X hatch was not available last year and I had not bought it then, instead of Mazda 3... But all is good now, I got rid of Mazda3 and have my white angel instead :)

I just got my Sport Touring and I don't have any complaints. None of the issues the OP describes happen to me. The transmission on mine is pretty smooth and definitely no blind spots. If you can't see, adjust your mirrors until you can.

I somewhat regret it. I live in an stop and go area and the mpg is disappointing. Honestly should have buy a prius. I'm planning to keep the car forever so prius might not be a good buy. The remote sunroof is pretty good for the hot weather but I could always blast the ac. But like they say the grass is always greener on the other side. No issue thus far so I should count my blessing.

I don't get it. I find the cvt in my EX-T coupe to be silky smooth and more responsive than I expected, even more responsive than some regular automatics that I've owned. Granted, I still have less than 500 miles on my car. So my question for those who hate their cvt is did the problems start immediately when the car was brand new, or did they start after a few thousand miles?
