Warm start grinding noise news!!!!!FIX

Edit: Well, looks like no repro on leaving the car with them, they won't accept the US TSB either so looks like we're still out of luck...

The dealership I bought the car from on the repair side is a huge pain in the ass.. (I'm looking at you Hopkins Honda), I called up during my lunch to ask about the free oil change and a tire rotation. When setting up the oil change date I also mentioned the CVT noise issue which the service writer had heard of, I told them that I had video of the car making the noise and would be willing to show them if it didn't make the sound on start up.

I was told that they only do diagnostic work during the week and not on Saturdays.. So it looks like I'm gonna be stuck with the noise for awhile, at least I'll get my oil changed for free and tires rotated for $24.95

The only instance where US Honda and Canada Honda work together is a warranty issue while you're in the other country, that renders the car undrivable.

if it was me i'd drive down to the US and say i moved to the US from canada and tell them to fix my shiiit, trust me i'd make it happen

Good luck producing documents showing you moved with proof of address, import papers for the car so now it's legal to register in the US, proof of registration, etc.

I know haha I was just being snide, but I re-read it and it came off as rude. My bad.

It's just that there are so many people who ask about US/Canada import/export/warranty...lol it's just not possible, unless you do physically move to the other country.

Ladies and gentleman here in Brazil they didnt know about anything either. But after making videos with my car and telling about the USA TSB they are performing the change of the parts. But still they are performing the fix i dont know if its going to work because they disnt tell me all the truth.

Yep yep and yep! Mines still grinding away, vibrating my passenger seat like mad at a red light, and cold start missfire is getting worse by the day. Cold start miss last between 1-2mins now, last month it only lasted a minute.. can't trade her in quick enough.. for sale privately too if anyone wants it. Pm me offers.

Shit, they changed the parts but not for the new kit that fix the issue. They are dumb i think but my dealer is working hard and im on pressure on honda

Well... The sound is back. It doesn't happen nearly as often and it is a much shorter grind duration, but this valve replacement may not 100% address the issue.

I still hear mine after they "fixed it"
But it's not as bad. Very short now.

So far 3 weeks into the fix mine hasn't done it yet .. .... I hope it doesn't come back.
