Honestly, all I really want to know is when I can pick it up. They can't really go more than about $37k (my guess is 36.5) and we know enough about the specs plus the couple reviews to know it performs.
That's the most important detail at this point!

How many times(laps) would you say that an auto manufacturer has taken to say that they have beaten any particular record? I would guess that any of their drivers have driven it hundreds of times in their career. So if they miss the mark by 1 second, and they know that corners 56, 78 and 82 were blown, and set out for that mark again. So, let's say it has taken 35 times to beat the GT-R's record. So yeah, they beat it, but......
At nearly 8 minutes, I doubt they get too many laps in - especially if they run on low fuel tanks. But this is a good question!

All manufacturer can do that. So no there is no advantage here

I keep fantasizing about the dealership calling me to come in and meet my new baby. Is this what normal people feel like when 8 months pregnant?

I am comparing the wait to what I was like as a child on Christmas eve.

I'm trying not to get annoyed by the vague info. We know it's coming "soon", the price range is close enough for me, and we know it's a bad ass car.

"Soon" is straight up 2+ months. We're just all trying to find who to throw money at by this point, or have thrown money at someone and hope they come through. I have absolutely no expectation the car shows up before July, so Im as "at peace" as I can convince myself to be. Now we wait

I agree. I was convinced we would see this car in June from what I have heard from every dealer, but I am starting to think twice on that. Would not be surprised at all if it's pushed back to an August time frame and stamped with a 2018 tag.

Dealer doesn't know anything let alone all of those "inside source " Lots of them said many wrong things. Look at Si for example. Don't believe anything other then what they say on the Honda press release.

I'd be surprised if it gets to July. From what I've heard is the reason for the delay in a specific date is due to a minor issue which may not even affect the target release of late May/early June

Right, all speculation at this point until we hear something definitive from Honda. It would be nice if we hear something on both the Si and R tomorrow, but I am not banking on it. Would be a nice surprise!

I am hoping for a June timeframe. Would be interested to see what the minor issue was, I'm guessing if it were a big issue we would have heard about it from Honda by now.
