Bluetooth. I don't use android auto ever because plugging it in is too inconvenient LOL and last time I tried I could only browse some, not all, of my music collection.

Bumped for the addition of a poll.

Interesting to see the responses sort of all over the place here, some Andriod Auto, some CarPlay, a little Bluetooth, USB, and SiriusXM... pretty much every option available. Now that I'd tried involving myself more with CarPlay, I can easily see myself using Bluetooth for shorter trips and CarPlay for longer commutes.

75% Sirius, 25% Spotify or Google Music through Android Auto. No complaints with either. Being able to rewind, etc., with Sirius is really nice.

I've tried using Spotify with Android Auto and felt it was terrible. Tried to install Spotify.apk in the Honda radio and it wouldn't install. First 3 months of satellite radio wasn't bad. Local HD audio was decent. Usb audio works.

I prefer getting in an out of the car with the very LEAST phone-fumbling possible, so I have a fast-wireless charging pad, vent-mounted and modified with magnets inside to hold my phone by its magnet-loaded case. When I get in, I just stick the phone to it. Bluetooth connects automatically and starts up my car-dock app and Spotify. I use Pandora too, as well as playing stored music using Black Player...all Bluetooth. Getting out, I just grab the phone with my right hand. This setup has me so spoiled, it's pitiful.

I've got my entire music collection stored on my phone in FLAC format, and out of convenience I'm usually just running it thru the car's Bluetooth via Poweramp. I have had mediocre success with Android Auto - for some reason it will stay connected for 30 seconds to 1 minute and then it will disconnect and I will get a message on the screen saying the connection was lost. Not sure if it's just the USB cable or if I'm doing something wrong.
I've had a lot of problems like this using cheap USB cables. Problem solved going to my original Samsung cable.
Have you noticed a big difference in sound quality going from audio streaming in Android Auto to bluetooth? I'm betting your sound quality gets decimated going through bluetooth, particularly if it's in a lossless format.

That's funny. You do realize those magnets could damage your phone over time right?

Primarily bluetooth for me, streaming from Google Play on my phone. Sirius was OK when I was too lazy to fiddle with my phone, but they really seem to have gone downhill from the last time I used their service probably 8 or so years ago. Hardly any metal variety, at least when I'd be listening (one station seemed to only play Metallica), and the hip-hop channels were either playing generic trash or they'd have some boring talk show going. Found some other decent channels but I couldn't justify the $15/mo bill when I can listen to nearly anything I want for $9/mo with Google Play and don't have to deal with the channels and their scheduled programming.

Right. My genre of choice is progressive rock/metal, and it's entirely worthless for that. I listened to some comedy during the free trial, but would never pay for such a weak selection.

60% GPM via Android Auto. Gotta love telling my car what to play.
20% Tidal via BT. I really dislike them for their lack of Android Auto support. Will ditch them the second Spotify rolls out official Hi-Fi audio support.
10% Sirius. Howard Stern and the metal stations. Yeah, they can be lackluster at times but others they play some good stuff on a roll.

USB for my music 95% of the time. On longer drives (or when listening to music where one song flows into another (think concept albums), I use my 10 year old ipod (80 gb). Unlike my USB stick, the ipod never stalls and it's easier to navigate to different artists of the alphabet. But I use the flash drive more because it's one less thing I have to take with me.

Which makes me ask why the software for the flash drive couldn't be identical to the one for the ipod. When using the ipod, I can choose a letter of the alphabet and quickly go to that band/artist. With the flash drive I can only scroll while driving (and it won't let me "jump scroll" unless the vehicle is stopped). The only fix I found is to use the voice prompt if I want to jump to an artist far down the list.
Yooo. Huge Opeth & Steven Wilson fan here, as well!
