2016 civic 1.5 Touring, (Pro) USB, Remote start, No fuel cap, MPG---MPG----MPG WHEN YOU DRIVE GOOD, It's most affordable. (Con) No glove box light, Bad or not good Backup camera night visibility. And this car isn't a sleeper. It will never be a tuner, not like a Evo ,VW , supra and others cars. Great car to have fun with. Hey here's some mpg to day. The roads we drive on range from 25,35.45.55, city limit and some highways fairly flat.. I agree with a lot of others about this car, we have driven it good. Enjoy yours.

I was shocked when I took a back road last night (had some fun :) lol) and checked my MPG for that trip. 54.2  considering winter gas + cold temps + I wasn't exactly easy on it...

I'll just say there's a good reason Honda dropped the hybrid :)

This thread was super helpful while researching the Civic last summer. I was slightly concerned about the initial software bugs and infotainment issues but purchased an EX hatch late in 2016. It is hard to believe this car is sporty, efficient, fun, and practical at the same time! How often does that happen?

2017 EX Hatch Positives
1.5L turbo engine and power; I was not expecting such a sports car
Remote start and remote window operation
Satellite radio antenna; keeps signal through tunnels better than any other I have seen
Brake Hold; nice feature for city driving
Smart Entry; love the touch-sensitive door handles (not touch, but works on hatch too)
Audio; excellent sound from the standard 8 speaker system

Negatives
Headlights; low beam is not bright enough
Glovebox; love the large size but it cannot be opened with a front seat passenger
Rear legroom; Wish rear hatchback passengers had as much legroom as the sedan
MPG; minor complaint that my real-world economy is only about 30 mpg (see my #1 positive)
Rear center armrest; one of the few things about this car that seems cheap

Positives:
MPG's: After 1500 miles, I'm averaging well above EPA estimates getting 40mpg combined doing 70/30 highway/city in 40 degree weather in my EX hatch.

Auto Proximity Door Lock: Never knew about this feature until a week after owning it and now it's my favorite feature. It's so convenient to just walk away from your car and have it lock on its own when your hands are full. I don't think I can live without now.

Body Roll: I also own an e92 335i sport, and owned a mazdaspeed protege before that. I wasn't expecting the chassis to be in the same league, but I was surprised to see how little to no body roll this car has. Can't wait to see what this can do with decent performance tires!

Negatives:
CarPlay: Frequently disconnects. Seems like just about any bump or turn disconnects my iPhone's connection and I have to unplug and replug my phone.

Loud Tires: As quiet as the car is in most environments, the tires can get intrusively loud on concrete highways going at certain speeds. It'll make a whirling noise from the hatch that will resonate at a maddening frequency.

Soft Plastic: The clear plastic on the gear selector is easily prone to scratching.

Glove Box: No light and no dampening.

My carplay is perfect, maybe try another lightning cable.

That no light in glove box is dissapointing, anybody has a dyi solution?

The Thai glovebox has a light and is damped so OEM parts should be available. They get rear aircon vents as well.

Give it a shot and show us how it turns out.
It is weird that there is an OEM Honda $500 towing package in many countries but not the U.S. The civic is rated according to the manual for 800kg towing capacity - about 1764 lbs - maximum with a 50 kg - 130 lbs - maximum downforce. I wonder why Honda are ok with other markets towing but not the North American?

With all the griping people have been doing about the volume button, apparently on the next refresh, so probably 2 years from now, sedan and hatchback will get the volume button back according to this person who works for a Honda dealership in Silver Spring, MD.

After 37k miles, my love for the car has turned to loathing. NVH is atrocious, more visits to the dealer than my Audi (didn't expect that). Car will be sold at some point this year.

Wow. Have you tried letting some air out of the tires or going to a taller sidewall? I'm currently running 16"x7" 45mm offset wheels and 205/60R-16 tires for winter, and it's definitely softer.

Oh yeah, I think I got that tire/wheel size from you. =D In your nice post on winter wheels -- thanks for that. So you definitely tried that. Sorry the car isn't working out for you now.

My main disappointment so far is the wiper system in the Touring. In the Touring there are three settings for the wipers: auto, slow, fast. On slow, the wipers are moving constantly just not that quickly. On fast, they're moving very fast. So there's no intermittent option that has the wipers go every 10-15 seconds or so. You'd think this would be no problem with the auto feature which is supposed to sense the rain on the windshield and wipe accordingly. This seems to work about half the time but other times, the wipers are just going and going and there's hardly anything on the windshield. So this is a big disappointment for me since I hate having my wipers going all the time and there seems to be no option that doesn't have them running pretty much constantly (in the touring). I wonder if there's something wrong with the sensing system or if the tech just isn't there yet? It sounded like one of those "too good to be true" kind of options.
It needs to be able to disable auto function and have manual intermittent setting.

Just brought my Sport home yesterday. It DOES have a volume knob. :)
Besides getting used to getting in and out of it (I went from a Dodge Ram to this and now instead of climbing up, I am climbing down and in) I love how comfortable and easy to drive this car is. I did do some research before buying; I knew I wanted the manual transmission, and I did not need the bells and whistles, so the sport was a good choice for me.

My son is looking forward to learning to drive in this car.

So far no unexpected or undesired surprises.
