Looking to get my black civic tinted. What percentage are people going with and what are the better options out there? I live in north Texas so anything that'll make a difference against the heat will be greatly appreciated. Also want it to look cool of course

Depends on state legality. For me in NC is 35% so that is what I am going with.

llumar. and i'd be more worried about finding a good tinter. lots of people suck at it.
I've used Llumar in several cars over the years going all the way back to my 87 VW GTI 16v. Always had great luck with the tint and I've had the same local awesome tint guy for all of the vehicles! The quality of the installation / installer is the key!

I had mine done yesterday by BG Auto Tint, 51 Dale Street, Springfield MA, they do an excellent job and guarantee their work. This is the 3rd vehicle I've had them do and I was not disappointed.
I also had them wrap the hood and the headlights in clear

3M line is all good - Crystalline, Color Stable, or FX. Go 35% or below for best heat rejection and best looks.

I just had Hüper Ceramic 30% installed all around today. It's not all that dark, but this film seems to reject a ton of heat despite allowing light though. I'll post a finished outdoor shot in a bit. For now, here it is going on :)

EDIT for OP: I'm in Texas, too. State law permits 25% on the front two doors, and has no rules about the rest. I wanted it to be uniform, so I went the same all around, but you could do 5% on the rear if you want. Just be careful driving to other states!

Here are the "after" photos! I probably could have gone a bit darker, but I'm still very pleased with the outcome. The true test will be next summer...

I'm near Austin, do you mind telling where did you get it done and for how much? Thanks
