Turbos and torque are overrated. Give me a loud high revving NA engine that I need to put through the gears to get the juices going.
Well, in that case, NA LX Civic is still available! :D

I miss a lot of things about the Si, but I don't race or speed irresponsibly. While other cars are on eco mode accelerating from a traffic light, I punch my LX and zoom away. For that kind of everyday driving, I have never felt under-powered, especially with an MT. Oh, fun! :headbang::drive: I know, it's still not the same as the ones you listed, though.

Amen.

I'm driving a good car and all but this is what I really want. I already miss my NA Hondas. Turbos and torque are overrated. Give me a loud high revving NA engine that I need to put through the gears to get the juices going.
*Goes on Craigslist to look at S2K's and ITR's
I think high revving NA engines can't compete with turbos for fuel efficiency and emissions. That may be the real reason for the shift. All my dream cars don't have turbos though.

I think it's because many of us realize this, that we look back with adoration and bittersweet-ness of the era no longer. But, at the same time, we are excited for the new era of power and efficiency as well. I am keeping an open mind about the possibility of getting an Si. :)

Member the 80's. Also remember my 2000 Si VTEC. It's a lot of fun getting on the freeway, but honestly, around town it lacks torque unless you flog it. Looking forward to a car with a bit more bottom end. I'll miss the VTEC roar, but the low end grunt will be appreciated.

This is exactly why there is really no more high performance N/A. Everyone would love a 230hp k24 but emission regulation would not allow such a thing anymore.
