Hi all, I am shopping around for winter tires and alloy wheels. A local dealer in Toronto, Canada is offering the Michelin X-Ice Xi3 Winter Tires and Enkei M52 wheels for a little over $1,600. Any thoughts on this offer? I am a new car owner with limited knowledge on product quality and fair prices.

Tire Rack has the wheels at a much lower price point. However, it does note that these wheels do not match my vehicle. Are these compatible with the 2016 Honda Civic Touring?

Was thinking of getting these

My friend just said he had a sore set of Steelies I can snag that will fit my lugs but are 15's. If I just buy the winter tires and use his rims, how much should It cost for them to be mounted and balanced and put on my car at a local shop? Or am I better off spending the grand and just having a place in bolt my current wheels and bolt these on?

I had 15' winter tires for my 06 Civic Coupe. Can I reuse these on my 2016 Civic Sedan Touring?

As a matter of fitment, pay attention to this, tirerack shows fitment for 38mm, 45mm, and 48mm offsets. Sometimes the same wheel is offered in 2 or more offsets claiming it is a "fit" for your vehicle. I went with the 38mm offset. (stock wheels are 17x7 w/ 45mm offset)

Can you explain more about the offset? I am literally looking to do the EXACT same set up you have (GREAT find on the wheels by the way - I hate how most aftermarkets look and steelies are simply unacceptable for me). Total price on Tirerack was $916 (after $100 shipping, ouch) and a $70 rebate.

I want to ensure I'm buying the right offset. TireRack is giving me the option of either 38mm or 48mm and I have literally no idea what this means. I know you went with 38mm - any reason.

Also, how do you feel the X-Ice perform relative to Blizzak? I've used Blizzaks and am happy with them (minus the price and road noise), but can't justify the price. My set for my 2013 Si aren't an exact fit for my Touring, so I'm in the market.

Please respond as soon as you can - they only have a of the tires left and I want to buy the package before they run out - this price is insanely good. Thank you for this AMAZING post.

Bad pic but here's my winter setup. Rial Milano 16x6.5 (offset 38) w/ 205/60R16 Conti Winter Si. About $1100 shipped from Tirerack but I bought local to get the free rotations/swaps.

I've got a (dumb) question for those who know more about this sort of thing, and didn't want to clutter the board with a new thread.

215/50R17 91H is the size of the stock tires for the EX-T sedan. I'm looking to upgrade my tires to Nokian WRG3s, but the place that carries them locally wants a small fortune for a set of them installed. Walmart carries them but in fewer sizes, and the savings having them installed there would be pretty decent. The closest they carry to my size, however, is 215/55R17 98V. Would this size be compatible with this car?

I asked the CS agent at the TireRack chat, and I was told that the 215/55R would be too tall, and recommended I stick to the stock tire size. Is that true, they'd be too tall? I'm completely clueless as far as non-stock tire sizes go.

Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to bump my questions in case they got lost in the earlier digression. Anyone with first-hand experience with the TireRack 16" steelies that could chime in?

BTW, it occurred to me that maybe the TireRack 16" steelies might actually have a 64.1mm center bore making them hub-centric after all.
I have them. You are correct. They are hub-cetric with a 64.1mm center bore. i ordered 16" steel wheels with firestone winterforce. I put them on the car a week ago and i'm very happy with them.

I wanted to get a nice set of alloy rims for my winter wheels but don't exactly have the budget for it right now so I went with the ghetto set up. 16" steel rims with hub caps from Walmart. I added some Honda stickers to use as "center caps" to make them look more legit lol. Not my ideal set up, but for this year, it'll do. Tires are Toyo Observe G3. They were recommended to me and were reasonably priced so I took a chance on them.

Glad it helped, I should have clarified that all of the ones tire rack offers will fit well. The higher offset means the tires will be inset under the fenders further. Granted it will only be 10 mm further inset.

Just got a set of Blizzak WS80s put on my '16 EXT yesterday. Pretty stoked on them so far. Smooth, quiet, and they grip a bit better than the stock Firestones. For some reason, they gave me 17 inch tires, and it sounds like everyone else is going with 16s. I'm a complete tire n00b, so I hope this doesn't stick me in the long run...

It won't. I ran blizzak WS60 on my 2013 Si in stock 17" rims. People say you get slightly better winter driving performance on smaller wheels but you'll be fine- I always was.

Only thing is that the tires tend to be slightly more expensive.

VIto416, the correct sizing is 205/60/16 if you have a 2016 EX.

I'll save you some work. Simplytires has it for $840 plus taxes and the manufacturer has a $70 rebate so your total price will come in at less than $900.
